Shimano 105 pedals continue the tradition
5I did a count the other day on how many sets of Shimano pedals I have. It came out to 8, ranging from Dura Ace and Ultegra standard and carbon to the various incarnations of mountain bike pedals on the mountain, CX bike and even one of the vintage bikes. So it was with little hesitation that I opted for the lower cost Shimano 105 PD-5700 SPD-SL Pedals for another retro/vintage project - mainly because at the cost was right and the bright finish suited the look I was trying to achieve. As usual the packaging was perfect - and they even came with a set of cleats - bonus! In use there's little difference to pick between the low-cost 105 pedal and its dearer brothers. Sure, you gain a bit of weight and the axle action isn't as smooth, but for my purpose, this is the perfect pedal that does everything I ask of it - and it looks great on my vintage Nishiki (and before the purists grizzle, I do have a set of old-school pedals with toe clips, but for day to day riding, the Shimano 105 pedals are the go).

mark a huge jump in performance and ease of use
4Shimano's 105 Road pedals are pitched at those starting to look for some real performance from their pedals, without wanting to fork out for lighter, fancier models in the market. Just £15 or so more expensive than the company's entry level road pedal, the 105s mark a huge jump in performance and ease of use.

4Considering that a pair is just 70g heavier than Shimano's Dura-Ace pedals, you're paying £160 less, which makes these a pretty good bet for those looking for a reliable and solid pedal, offering genuine performance.Shimano's 105 Road pedals are pitched at those starting to look for some real performance from their pedals, without wanting to fork out for lighter, fancier models in the market. great pedals
5I really like shimano pedals, I have R540 that I bought first, going from SPD to a platform that does not point press in the middle of the foot. Then I got these 105 because they are made without plastic. I've had spd, wellgo, look, time, candy eggbeater, but I prefer these for the platform and longevity.

Good pedals
5I use these with the yellow 6 degree float cleats and find them a good combination! I have nearly fallen off twice (new to clip in pedals) but with the adjustable tension set at the right level have managed to avoid any mishaps!

Great, durable pedals
4I've logged about eight thousand miles on these pedals and their still working just like the day i got them. A few scratches and a couple of crashes on them and still function perfectly. If you want a pedal that needs no maintenance do yourself a favor and pick these up. If anything the only negative is the weight. Fairly heavy pedals but other than that their great.

value and durability
5These are a little bit heavier than Ultegra but just as reliable, but at a fraction of the price. I've had mine for 6 months (upgraded from spd pedals) and they have preformed flawlessly.
