Best value out there. You can pay much more for a minimal weight savings. I have approx 3,000 miles with zero issues.Report this review
Best price for performance - Highly Recommended5
Was comparing this to the Ultegra, ended picking the 105 because it's cheaper and only 10 grams heavier.
Wide platform provides that extra stability when out of the saddle.
I had ordered another pair for my other bike.
I honestly can't see any reason to buy any other pedal that cost less than $200. These perform well, last forever, are easily serviceable, and will do everything you need them to until you upgrade to the Dura-Ace version.Report this review
All the features of the Ultegra/DuraAce pedals at a lower pricepoint5
As long as you're not overly concerned about weight, these pedals are the sweet spot in the SPD-SL range based on features/price. They feature the same wide, stable platform, retention and cleats as the higher end pedals. After a switch to these from my previous pedals, hotspots disappeared and I feel more connected to the bike.Report this review
Typical 105 value which is significantly cheaper than the ultegra equivilant. As advertised, the wider plate does appear to slightly increase power transfer and ease of clip in/out. Reflective finish on the silver option gives it a nicer finish than the standard silver R540 pedals too.Report this review
Great bang for your buck4
Proven to be a solid, reliable pedal that mirrors the performance of the ultegra pedals, although a few grams heavier.
No reason to upgrade to the ultegra or above unless you are counting grams.
Good Pedals at Lower Cost4
I own these pedals, and have been completely satisfied.
They offer the most important features of the more-expensive Ultegras at a much lower cost.
Performance is great and the price - which includes cleats and bolts for your shoes - is fantastic.Report this review
The 105 SPD-SL pedals have been around for a while and are well-proven performers, with long-lasting bearings assemblies. The latest models run the same bearing assemblies as previous 105 versions – and indeed other Shimano SPD-SL pedals, so should you need to service them it’s a quick and simple job with plenty of parts readily available.
Performance is great and the price – which includes cleats and bolts for your shoes – is fantastic.
