Pedals that work
I don't spend a lot of time fussing over my pedals. I've used Shimano SPD-SLs for a long time, and whenever I get another bike, I buy another pair of pedals. These 105s looked a bit weird when I installed them. The axle looked longer and thinner than the axles on my other pedals. The other pedals looked as if they were anchored firmly to the crank with a solid piece of metal; these looked as if they were connected by a twig, and I was concerned about the wider Q-factor. Also, clipping in seemed to take a bit more effort, as well, even after I eased the tension. But as I've used them (mostly on the rollers, unfortunately. It's winter in Ontario), I've realized that they work just fine and that, if I bought new pedals every week instead of every couple of years, I probably wouldn't have had any concerns at all. I'll know more when I take the bike and the pedals onto the road.
Nice looking pedals but came with defect
These pedals arrived earlier than I had expected with the rest of the order and looked great. However when I went to install them one pedal had a fairly obvious defect with the spindle being off center into the pedal causing it to yaw back and forth with rotation. Pro bike kit has been great so far though, just waiting for it to get to them in the mail. Will review again once I get them on my bike.
I can't asked for more. Great product, I am very happy with this pedals.
Best for money
Excellent pedals in good price/ quality. No need to upgrade yet.
I bought these to replace some old Shimano SPD-SL pedals. Upgrading to the 105 model was definitely worth it. Much lighter, stainless steel platform, and crisper action were all noticed immediately. Price can't be beat.
Shimano is always a safe choice
As usual my Shimano brand purchase has performed in a flawless manner. The 105 pedals replaced my Ultegra pedals with over 20,000+ miles on them. The big plus with this purchase was the cleats are supplied with the pedals for no extra charge. So I figure I have about 18 dollars American invested in the pedals. Life is Good, it doesn't get any better than that.
Great price on a real quality item. Thanks!
solid, dependable, great value!!
Couldn't ask for anything more from a pedal!!! I've used pedal's from other top brands, but noting can match the solid feeling and dependability of shimano pedal's. Other pedal's have their merit's of lighter weight and extreme adjustability, but if you value a rock solid interface and fit and forget dependability, then shimano pedals are the way to go. These 105's are an incredible value and shouldn't be ignored for more expensive pedals higher up the shimano food chain. I prefer the aluminum bodies to the new carbon fibre ones, so I jumped on them before they disappeared into myth and legend. They are just more confidence inspiring for such a vital component of the bike/ rider interface. I also prefer aluminum bars and stems....simply my preference of durability and dependability over weight...
