Does the job

After a lot of umming and aahing about the relative merits of edges 200, 500, 510 or 810 I settled on this as a compromise for features vs price. it has not disappointed. Easy to set up, small but easily read, more functionality than I need for most rides. Excellent product.

Very clever bit of kit

Having used the Strava App on my phone I wanted to have the information to hand without having a phone strapped to my handlebars. Very compact and lightweight with programmable screens which you can tailor yourself. I use with the wireless cadence and heart rate monitor and the info is superb. Upload straight to Strava is a breeze and the backlight is a nice touch for the winter months. Phone apps are great but this is another level. Still haven't scratched the surface with all the unit can do but a fortnight in and I love it. Don't hesitate to buy this, should have bought one ages ago!

This was purchased as a Christmas present so can't give a user rating yet. Arrived very quickly and the best price I could find on the net. Very happy at this point.

I just recieved my garmin 500 a couple weeks ago and love it . It does everything I wanted and was very easy to set up, definatly a good deal , my friend has the 510, but I really don't see spending the extra money for the couple extra features that the 510 has over the 500.

The Garmin Edge 500 does everything I hoped it would: Log routes; monitor cadence; track distance, speed, and grade; customized displays; and upload rides to Strava. I recommend it.

Excellent piece of kit. Easy to set up and easy to use. Adds real time information to your ride. This information can be individualised by the user. Strava compatible

Recently got in to cycling. I was getting fed up of having to use my phone to check speed and direction as having it on the stem is getting in the way. Bought this model as I can add a heart rate monitor and cadence if needed. Simply and easy to use, the route features is great for not getting lost!

The services provided by ProKit was wonderful. My phone and emails were responded to promptly. The Garmin Edge 500GPS came through just as described and included everything I needed to get riding. I suggest having only 3 data fields per screen so it can easily be read while riding. There are many data fields to choose from customizing your GPS unit to your liking.
