Great chain

Dura Ace 7901 chains are the best I have tried. They last at least 3 times longer than other chains. They shift well and are lightweight. The only reason I am giving them a 4 is that the packaging from ProBikeKit is not the original box packaging.

Shimano Dura-Ace CN-7901 Bicycle Chain

This is a chain that, after taxes in the US, costs about $100 its the top tier 10spd chain from shimano, meaning its their smoothest, stiffest and lightest chain for 10spd road systems. although this chain does have incredible durability, it does not last quite as long as an ultegra or 105 chain would, however it shifts much smoother and seems to move through the drivetrain with a lot more ease (whether you use shimano or sram). this is a hollow-pin chain because it is made to be as light as possible for racing and therefore has a slightly shorter lifespan. This chain paired with the 6700 cassette is probably the best chain/cassette combination out there for racing; its a combo that is both very high quality and very low budget. Once again, I'm super impressed with how low of a price probikekit can offer for such a top level product!

Not my first Dura-Ace chain but the first delivered in a plastic bag. No documentation or anything. Appears to be genuine but you have to wonder. This is a directional chain and it is important to have the labeled side of the chain facing away from the bike. You also need to know how to insert and break the connecting pin. Excellent price though.

7901 chain order

I received both chains, in an appropriate amount of time. What concerned me though was that neither chain was in its Shimano box, simply a plastic bag. Assuming they're the correct chains, and they are Shimano's, but I would have preferred to get them in their respective boxes, as I'm assuming they're new. Otherwise, service has always been good.

DA chain

5

I've been using Dura-Ace components since the early '90's. Prior to that I raced with Campagnolo. Since switching to DA I've never looked back. I presently ride a Colnago EP with DA 7800. I've always used the 7800/7801 chain. I just put a new 7901 chain on. This will now be my chain of choice. It is silky smooth, shifting is as usual, flawless and this chain is simple to install and maintain. I'm going to switch to DA 9000 over the coming winter but for now this is the only chain I'll use. Thanks PBK for, once again a great selection, service and price!

Smooth Operator

I decided to upgrade to this chain after my Ultegra wore out and I feel it's worth the extra dollars.

The shifts are noticeably smoother and upshifts are a bit faster too. I would like to report on wear but I've only done 1100 kms but it would be fair to assume it should last longer than cheaper chains with the alloy treatment.

All in all very happy with this upgrade and worth the upgrade
