my 7800 had just stretched out and so I replaced it with 7900.
installation was a breeze and build quality was superb. I can feel the weight difference between the two. Shifting has improved and quieter than 7800. Now I test its durability.
Good but not great3
As I do alot of hill work I'm hard on chains so with the 7901 2000klms and the chain is done, which is not as good as the 7801 but then there is almost always a trade off for lighter weight.Report this review
The chain is quiet and the gear changes are very smooth with the 7900 Dura Ace group set. The chain normally last about 3500km to 4000km, but I always check it with the chain checker, as soon as it shows wear, I change it before it wears the cassette and cranks.Report this review
good shifting, light, more durable than expected, but pricy4
I'm a fairly light rider (135 lbs) and have a smooth shifting technique, and these chains have lasted me as long as my previous campy 10 speed chains, i.e. about 6000 km. A bit pricey, but in the same range of prices with the competitionReport this review
this chain works really well. The shifting is precise and crisp. The wear is the only reason I do not give this chain a perfect 5 stars. Very smooth and makes the drive train very quietReport this review
Another great Shimano chain3
Great chain, works best with 7900 cassettes (as in new Dura Ace 10 speed 7900 series). didn't believe it would work better than the 7801 until I swapped over! Wears well with the new Dura Ace cassettes but not as long lasting as its predecessor (7801)Report this review
It feels like it's lighter than others, especially noticeable when shifting as it seems to just float from one gear to the nextReport this review
