Great upgrade to your bike.

Latex tubes are the way to go. Pair them with a set of high tpi tires like a Vittoria Corsa Evo and you will enjoy even the rough roads.

Good tubes

These seem good, but I did have a flat after 19 miles of use, probably just a coincidence. I'll stick with them.

Aircomp Latex

When used in with Michelin Pro4 Tyres, they make a super fast & puncture resistant combination. I highly recommend them.

Reat tubes

Great tubes. Lighter better ride and in my experience more durable than butyl tubes. More expensive but worth it.

Latex tube convert

5

After reading about latex tubes and the more comfortable ride they promise, I purchased these Michelin latex tubes from PBK. I am a convert. Aside from the need to inflate the tires with each ride, they deliver a more compliant ride at the same pressure as a butyle tube. I use these tubes with conti 4000s clinchers on Reynolds carbon wheels. PBK has great pricing and the Michelin latex tubes are high quality.

icing on the cake

5

The word is that with these tubes, your wheels will roll faster and also give a a slightly raised level of comfort. I have found this to be true in my own experience. When youv'e spent big money on wheels and the best tyres you can afford, these tubes are like the icing on the cake. They also come in different valve stem sizes which is great if you run wheels like fulcrum zero's which have a deeper rim on the rear. The only drawback is that they have to be inflated before each ride as they bleed off a bit of pressure over time. Definitely less punctures, infact, hardly ever. Heartily recommended. John

Nice tubes

5

Nice and light, and not threaded so easier to be Rule #60 compliant. These have helped the overall weight of my wheels to reduce and are a great price at PBK!

I don't use anything else

Latex offers a very supple and compliant ride, yet feels like it rolls better than butyl rubber. it is very hard to puncture..... the best green stuff on the planet

Pinch Flat Solution

5

I have found that a combination of good latex tubes, 25mm tires, slightly lower pressure (90-95 psi) and talcing the inside of the tires, is, knock on wood, the answer to pinch flats. From 2 or 3 pinch flats a year on normal paved roads, to zero in the past 18 months, and riding more and more on dirt roads, i haven't suffered a single flat. More than 3000 miles; the slight inconvenience of adding air daily is nothing compared to changing tires at the side of the road on a cold rainy day. These tubes have worked perfectly. You do have to be careful of any roughness around the valve stem hole in your rims, as I have noted signs of wear here.
