Looks really good on the bike, changes are very quick and precise, streets ahead of my old FSA Gossamer. Using it with Sram Apex changers and 1050 cassette and chain, absolute joy to ride, smooth and silent, can really put the power down now. But note that the picture is of the old version, I received the current version as per the Sram website, which looks different (better) and comes with the alloy BB rather than the black one. It's a standard 68mm English thread, no need for spacers on a road bike, straightforward fit with a Hollowtech socket and an 8mm hex for the crank, both on a torque wrench of course. I'm finding myself a gear or two higher than before and big-big and small-small have become realistic options when hills go wrong, although not exactly the ideal way to do it of course!

SRAM Quality

4

I picked this set up for a rebuild project on an old Bianchi steel frame. The BB fit perfectly in the old 1" English threaded shell without any difficulty. The crankset is light for alloy, and the chainrings that came on mine are the later, stiffer design with fewer cutouts (unlike those in the photo). The material and finish quality are consistent with the other components in the SRAM Rival groupset and will not disappoint. If weight is a major concern I'd recommend a carbon crankset but if you're not too fussy about a few extra grams these deliver excellent value for the money.

Swaped out a standard crankset set with a compact crankset for an excellent improvement. Very good price, Very happy.

Economic Deal

I ride my bike through New England winters and by the end, my drivetrain is completely destroyed. The cost to purchase this product (cranks, chainrings and BB) is the cost to replace just the chainring from my local bike shop. Such an economical deal.

I have these in 53/39, they look the business and are stiff as anything, recommended

Rival Chainset

PBK seemed to be the only supplier who had a Compact 165m Rival Chainset in stock. A good chainset with very durable chainwheels.

Good Mid-Range Crankset

Having recently upgraded my winter bike's groupset from Shimano to a combination of Force and Rival, I would suggest this crankset is well worth considering. Whilst not the lightest or heaviest it is, in my opnion, a good price of kit for those wet and dirty winter rides where your bike gets a good work from the elements. I am also a big fan of Sram; I love the double tap system which allows easy gear shifting rom both the hoods and the drops.
