Garmin Edge

I managed to install everything on Sunday night and used it for the first time this morning. Installation was pretty simple once I'd worked out what way it was supposed to be. The data collected after todays' bike ride was fantastic. Onwards and upwards.

Quality Bike Computer

Been using another brand computer for years. Thought it was about time to upgrade to a higher level in cycling computers. The Garmin Edge 500, tracks everything I could ever want it to. Easy to setup and to use. Good a good price through ProBikeKit.

Garmin Edge 500 GPS/HRM/CAD Cycle Computer - Red/Black

The Garmin Edge 500 GPS/HRM/CAD Cycle Computer is a great unit. This gives you lots of data info. The mount system and location on the stem could be improved. You should use a mount/bracket that can secure the unit forward from the bars, not on the stem so as to view the screen easily while riding. With the existing mount location, one must look down taking away the sight line in front of you. I will definitely purchase a different mount to use with this unit.

Solid unit

Once you learn the menus this unit is quite solid and easy to set up. I bought this one based on the numerous poor reviews of the 510. Couldn't be happier.

The benchmark of gps systems

5

The Garmin Edge 500 GPS/HRM/CAD Cycle Computer is the benchmark by which the others are rated. It takes a bit to setup but once you have it'll tell you everything you need. This locks on the satellites well. You could pay a bit more for the 510 but unless you carry your phone and your a social media addict then why pay the extra? It does everything you need and then some, this is a first rate piece of kit.

Neat, self-contained GPS computer with excellent downloadable ride info

The best bit is the range of information on offer here and the fact that it’s fully customisable. You get all the basic speed and distance measurements that you’d expect along with gradient, total ascent/descent, lap times and averages… you get the idea. Plus, if you go for the speed/cadence sensor you get more information there, and if you use a heart rate strap you can view the measurements in a variety of different ways. It’ll link up with ANT+ power-measuring equipment too, which is a massive bonus if you train by wattage. -road.cc

Cycle computer for the 21st Century

I've had a few Garmins, infact 5 and i have to say this was the easiest to use, set up and mount. Its small size (compared to the older edge models) is also a bonus as it looks sleek on your racing machine rather than a large block of plastic. With the advent of websites such as Strava, having one of these is a must....you will see a marked improvement in your fitness and enjoy the competitiveness that this device allows.
