Shimano Ultegra 6800 - looks great and performs as expected. Would purchase again.

Solid brakes and an improvement from the prior iteration!

Excellent brake calipers. The feel of these brakes are more precise and softer to the touch than the previous Ultegra 6700 generation version. A worthwhile upgrade!

Ultegra 6800 brakes

I have been very happy with my purchase of these brakes. I needed to upgrade the stock brakes on my Tarmac and after some looking chose the Shimano Ultegra 6800. First thing I noticed was how light they are. Got them switched out on the frame very easy with only two wrenchs. They were very easy to set up by myself. On the first ride I noticed how much better the function was. I no longer needed to slow down so far ahead of a stop. Put them to the true test on a 1,000 meter decent and was impressed with the performance. It was a wet foggy day on a 6 mile technical decent, experienced no brake fade or slipping on the wet rim. I have recommended these brakes to my friends and would purchase them for any future bikes.

ultegra 6800 rear brake

I upgraded from some no name (think they were Tektro) brakes. There is no doubting the quality of this brake and the new cantilever design is a work of art. However, the stock brakes must have been better than I thought because there isn't much noticeable difference. They stop me pretty well but so did the original ones. These will not rust though.
