Returning this ASAP

This light is super bright but that's the only pro. The cons are numerous. The light is big, heavy, clunky, and very awkward to strap on tightly. This is fine if you put the light on your bike and keep it there, but if you want to take it off and on frequently, it's a pain in the neck to pull it super taut so that it doesn't move around. I plan to return this and get one that has a good bar mount and that is a little sleeker as well.

Great, Bright DIY Light

3

This has all the refinement of an advanced DIY project. Rough casting of the case, and big, ugly parts. The 'design' seems completely determined by manufacturing efficiency and whatever off the shelf components would fit together best. Don't get me wrong, the light is pretty robust seeming, although the charge port is kind of loose feeling. It's just that for something touted as a premium design product, it really looks home made. Plugs and caps aren't even flush or clean fitting. The bluetooth is always on. Even when the light is off. Runtime is as promised. It's very bright -- I'm using it offroad gravel riding in the forest in the rain, and can get a good 20-30m view out of it in foulest weather before the rain or fog glare gets me. Most infuriating is that this light uses crude PWM dimming, which can be annoying for some people -- in all but the maximum brightness modes, the light is actually strobing at a high rate to provide the appearance of dimming and save power. You can really notice this riding over flat gravel or textured surfaces, or when traffic crosses your path. I wish there was a low-steady-high-pulse flash mode for daytime or all round, as it's a lot safer in traffic than the on-off type flashing, so for now I just use the full steady modes. Perhaps with a firmware update there will be improved flash patterns. The app works pretty well.

Lezyne MEGA

Great product from a company with a flare for attention to detail. This light has been great for night riding on gravel and rails. It is more than bright enough for trail riding, maybe a bit dull for really techy trails maybe. Combined with a Lezyne micro drive on the helmet it's perfect for getting some night time miles.

Great light

Absolutely amazing light from Lezyne. Really bright with very competitive run times, the option of purchasing the additional battery pack is also great for longer rides. The light was quick and easy to learn to use and the option to control the light using the app is brilliant when it is mounted in a hard to reach place. The rubber mount supplied wont be robust enough for everyone, I chose to purchase a seperate aluminium mount for extra security. It may not be the cheapest bike light but you 100% get what you pay for. I am now looking to purchase a rear and helmet mounted light from Lezyne after being so pleased with this one.

Quick Review

The light out put is great, but the rest needs some work. The instructions for operation are sparse and difficult to follow, but when you spend some time and eventually get in line to Get the full manual, it improves. The mounting system though, is large, cumbersome and difficult to use. I have 3 lights, and this mounting system is by far The most difficult and my least favourite
