Not useful for commuting
1I'm using this as a video recorder for commuting to work on a road bike, mounted on my helmet. It may be good for sports/action filming but for commuter use, it doesn't film clear enough number plates (even on HD setting on a sunny day) while the bike is in motion and cars are stationary on the side of the road. No hope of getting number plate details if a car hits you and drives off.

Can't open files
1The camera works. I can't open the files in either the Mac or PC versions of the official shimano software though. The actual .mov files play in the QuickTime player fine. If you pause you can read number plates. This would be collectable if there was anyway to get support from Shimano. Apart from a mail address in the US I haven't found it.

Camera Good, Editor Not
3The camera itself is a brilliant tidy little unit. It's light, compact, easy to carry and attach. Using the smartphone is the smart way to set the camera up for use on the bike. Only have then to press start and stop. Full marks for Shimano for the camera. But....I have not had any useful success with the Shimano Camera Editor programme, which is not nearly as smart as the camera itself. For me, that diminishes both the utility of the package and the reputation of Shimano. In short, a great camera, but cannot say the same about Shimano's editing programme.

Bang for buck!
5Great product from Shimano. Fantastic video quality, light and very discreet when mounted on your handlebar unlike the go-pro camera. The activation and record buttons are simple and intuitive and you can connect to your handphone to view the camera and video files directly via wi-fi. It's also water-proof up to 10 meters without requiring any additional outer casing.

Nice sport cam
4This camera is small and lightweight. It is waterproof already, so you do not need an extra case. Moreover, the flat shape makes it is quite aero dynamic when it is mounted on your bicycle. Although this is my first action camera, it is very easy to setting up and the manual is very helpful. For the first use, you need to fully charge the battery and to update to the new firmware (please visit shimano website). You can use your mobile phone as the camera screen via the WiFi link from the camera, until you start to record the video (that is a weak point for me). The quality of video is also good. I never tried other action camara before, but I am very happy with this one.
