Bright "Blinky" but flawed and forget about the 'smart'

2

+ Bright, secure mount, loads of flash/steady/brightness options - inconsistent battery life (anywhere between a week and a 3hr ride). Needs the app to change options. Struggles to connect to Garmin, spends most of the time trying to form a light network. If you want the smart features you need to enable "insights" in the app every single time you use it, it defaults to off . At the 17.99 sale price is a half decent blinky, if I'd paid rrp and wanted the Smart features I'd have e it back.

Good bright light.

Purchased the see.sense Ace rear light on offer from Probikekit and it is a great little light, I only run mine on flash and about half power but its very visible and will draw attention in both night and day. The mountings are solid enough, and the light won't unclip accidentally. The app can be a bit temperamental, I'm using a huawei on android so it might be down to that, but it does give great control over the settings for the light, the 'stats' page can be a bit hit and miss too. The rear lights can also form network with a garmin which is a handy feature and they seem to have plenty of run time in them. All in all a good visible light for the price, if the app was a bit more 'perfect' it would be wort 5 stars.

Good light but clip is rubbish

The light is great but if you plan to clip it onto your saddle bag I wouldn't buy it. The clip slipped off my topeak saddle bag the 1st ride out. If you are mounting it on the frame then it's a great light. They should provide a better, tighter, more sturdy clip.

Compact, light and very bright

4

It's a compact and very lightweight light but is very bright in daylight and a highly visible 'brake light' red. Lots of mounting options make it simple to fit (or wear). The app (and a smart-phone!) is necessary to access all of the available flash modes and settings-including brightness reduction for group rides, though basic on/off, steady and simple flash are available from the light's button. With the app and bluetooth and riding in the cold it seems quite battery-thirsty, getting down to 45% from a two hour ride. Road reporting doesn't seem to be a (UK) nationwide scheme but limited to certain city schemes. Motion detection/theft alert is potentially comforting though can lead to odd behaviour (and battery drain) when the light isn't on your bike! The rubber switch panel on my unit is slightly misaligned which is aesthetically irritatiing but not a functional problem. At the sale price it's worth it for the performance of the light without the bells and whistles, otherwise I'd check out how well the 'extras' suit your needs.

Excellent Rear Light

This light is really good. An app controls the lights funtions - flash, burst, constant etc, as well as the brightness, on/off (which can also be switched on using the button on the light itself). It easily links with your phone's bluetooth. I use the light for both day and nightime rides, changing the brightness and mode for each. The charge lasts for many hours also. The light mounts are really secure. I'm not one for using the other funtions like crash alert, road mapping, theft etc, so can't really comment on these, but I know they are there when using the app. As a light its excellent - easy to charge, mount, its bright when needed, has many mounting options and light modes, and priced very well vs. other lights I have had, or have seen elsewhere. Recommended.

Too bright?

3

Very bright light which will be good for solo rides to be seen during daylight rides but too bright for group rides
