Works Great!

4

I have tried the PBK Chamois Cream, which also works great, but one thing I like about the assos cream is the ingredients - it seems to be a bit more natural when you compare the listings.

Also, the cooling feeling it has on that hot area was a welcomed suprise!

The container is quite smaller than the PBK chamois cream, but the cream itself is much thicker, which makes it easier to apply.

Overall, satisfied, but I would probably opt for the less expensive PBK chamois cream next time - more cream for a lower price.

Relief

Riding my bike for long hours has never been so comfortable! Before I started using Assos Chamois Creme, I had problems with skin irritation. Finally I have found a product that is both effective but also value for money.

My Top Choice

5

Assos Chamois Creme is a thick, water-based, anti-bacterial creme. It has menthol in it, which adds a gentle cooling effect for the first few minutes.

I think for me it helps reduce saddle sores and increase comfort. One container lasts a couple months and stays good for several months if it's not regularly used. The anti-bacterial agents work well to prevent sores and keep a chamois hygienic. Also, the creme is water-based so it won't stain your chamois or soak through and leave an oily residue on your saddle.

However, because it is water-based it does soak into your chamois shortly after riding but continues to lubricate for a couple of hours.

If you want an added layer of protection against saddle soars, Assos Chamois Creme is a top choice.

Don't leave home without it!

5

I don't tend to use it for the 60 minute blasts on my trainer, but wouldn't dare leave home without it on the roads. The formulation does a great job at preventing hotspots and even works well as a moisturiser if you get a little wind burn. The new formulation (as compared to a couple years ago) threw me off at first, but its still the same trusty assos chamois creme a lot of us have come to trust.

Good at first

This cream costs more and people say its the best but there are better creams out there. It does a great job but for the long rides it does not last that long during the ride. The tub is also small, so you don't want to lay it on too thick or its gone too quick.

Best Creme Out there

5

This is easily the best chamois creme available in the market. More expensive than others but I have never had saddle sores using this creme. When using cheaper cremes have had saddle sores. Wont buy the cheaper ones again

Perfect

5

I have used this ever since I took the plunge to buy some Assos shorts. The pads are still perfect in every way with no little bobbles or anything on them and barely any wear. Not bad for 3 year old shorts that have seen a lot of miles!
I couldn't recommend this stuff enough!

That feels very nice

5

The Assos Chamois Creme is a little more expensive than other creams out there, but it feels so sweet.

It is a very light cream, without the heavy or greasy feel of something like Chamois Butt'r. It is also anti-microbial & washes out of the chamois very easily - leaving no discolouration or noticeable residue.

There's something else. Assos include a dash of menthol in their recipe. The result is a barely noticeable analgesic cooling when you apply it. As your bottom becomes more sore, the cooling effect becomes pleasantly more noticeable. It is NOT like Icy-Hot in a jock-strap, quite the contrary it is like a soothing balm.

**Note, there is some confusion about chamois cream it seems: it is more effective when applied to your skin, not the chamois. Apply a little extra to any hot spots that you typically get.
