Designed with the legendary Black Chili rubber compound, the Continental Grand Prix 5000 road bike tyre boasts a 10-gram weight reduction in a 25c width, a 12% reduction in rolling resistance and a 20% increase in durability compared with its predecessor. Thanks to the proprietary Laser Grip Technology which creates a micro tread pattern that expands over the shoulder of the tyre, the GP5000 also offers increased all-weather grip, giving you the ability to take even the most technical corners at speed. As a clincher tyre, the Grand Prix 5000 is also incredibly practical and easy to service at roadside too.

Continental believes a comfortable tyre is a fast tyre – which is why the GP5000 now comes in a 32mm width and is constructed with Active Comfort Technology to help smooth the sharpest shocks from the roughest roads. Lined with the tear-resistant but ultra-lightweight Vectran fibres, the GP5000 sets new standards for puncture protection in road race tyres. So, whether you’re training in a downpour or racing in the sunshine, you’ll have complete confidence that your tyre out-performs the competition in every category and in all possible conditions.

Conti 5000

Bought these two months ago. I had 4 flats in the past 3 weeks because these tires can’t handle any rocks on the road. My last set of 5000s (purchased locally) lasted me a whole racing season so I don’t think the current set of tires are genuine. Just my opinion but recommend not buying these from ProBikeKit. Something ain’t right here.

An improved version of an already great tire...

I was skeptical that the GPS 5000 would be better than it's predecessor however, it is! Grip, rolling resistance and comfort all seem to be slightly better. Also, like the fact that they are more true to size than the GPS 4000SII. The best all rounder I've ever ridden...

still awaiting vittiroa ribino pro tyres purchased 21 04 2020

awaiting for these tyres since 21 04 2020 .very dissapointing .You appear to carry no stock in New Zealand. This is my third and last purchase .

Not durable

Pro Bike Kit is a great place to get the gear needed to ride, however the GP 5000 is nowhere near the same quality as the 4000ii. I can barely get over 1,500 miles before the sidewall of the tire begins to show thread, front and back.

continental gp 5000

coming off from GP 4000, I did feel more stability and grip right away! Also felt like faster then other tires on a different bike! And we will see about durability, but so far so good! Great deal and amazing tire!

Bring back the 4000

As a few others have indicated, I had a sidewall flat which basically ruined the tire after only a month of use. In addition, the 5000 was the most difficult tire to remove that I have ever experienced. The 4000 was a much better prduct.

Questioning Authenticity

Like other costumers describe the product arrived without any manufacturer wrapping/box. One tire failed on the third ride with it. Sidewall on one tire blew out/failed. I question if these tires are truly authentic or if they are refurbished tires or possibly knockoffs? Not pleased with quality of tires received.

Continental gp5000 tyres

a great tyre fast but also seems to last well.

Explains product clearly.

Having tried all makes and types of tyre iv'e now settled on the GP 5000 latterly 4000 the go to for all my bikes. The 28mm i'm reviewing now is an experiment. I put these on my what I describe as my fast road bike. There appears to be little or no difference in terms of grip or rolling resistance but with the extra width make a ride more comfortable.(experiment successful) These tyres will also deal with quite a wide range of surfaces. Great tyre.

Awesome Tire!

I've been using GP 4000's 25mm for a long time and upgrade to the GP 5000's 25mm. I'm very happy with my decision to stay with Continentals. They roll quicker then the 4000's in my opinion. They feel softer as well. For the price they're being sold at the time of my review you can't go wrong. I would highly recommend them.
