Great Buy

Finally made the switch to tubeless and with 1,000km, I have zero regrets. Tyres were a little stiff to get seated but once they snapped into place eveything was stellar. Smooth ride and noticeabley less rolling resistance. Buy em, you'll love em!

They are nice set of tires fairly easy to mount on wheels and look sleek and classy.

Caution long-time Conti owners

As a tire, this is just an evolutionary improvement on the GP4000 series we've all loved for years. BUT !!! Where a GP4000S2 in 23mm on an old-school rim bed width wheel would measure 25.5mm, and the same tire in a 25mm would measure 27.8mm (using digital callipers), the GP5000 tires are made for more modern wide rim bed widths. As such, the GP5000 clincher in 23mm width measures 21.3 mm when strapped to a narrow rim bed and 23.8 when laced to a wider rim bed. The GP5000 are very blatantly narrower in appearance even before mounting than their GP4000 series predecessors and when fitted to a modern wide rim bed, much closer to claimed width than the outlandishly over-wide older Continental models.

Great tires!

Very fast tire. I had used the Conti 4000's for years and just stuck with this new upgraded version. Just be aware that the sidewalls are very fragile, I cut one after just 2 months. Width sizing is spot on, I bought the 25mm and it measures exactly 25mm with calipers. The old 4000s (25mm) actually measured 26.5mm. Can be a very tight fit on some wheels and getting them seated properly can take a few efforts. Twin pack pricing is pretty much the cheapest on the planet, no reason to look elsewhere.

Bike Tyre Purchase

This time the delivery was fine, with zero problems. I put it down to the fact that I had selected the package to be tracked. It cost a little more however I believe that it was well worth the extra outlay. Thank You - Pro Bike Kit - Duncan Rokahr

Continental quality

Had every intention of trying vittoria corsa tyres but true to form stick with continental. Not sure whether there’s much improvement over the gp4000 IIs but good pricing and fast delivery from PBK and they’ve been fine so far.

Great tire - vastly improved from 3000

I value road feel and adhesion over treadwear and rolling resistance. I ride about 16K per year. I've been using Vittoria Corsa's for many years and was very happy with their performance in this regard - except that the high treadwear was getting to me - I was going through 3 rear tires per year. Always willing to try something new, I thought I'd give GP5000's a try. My last experience was with GP 3000's and they were very difficult to mount to my Campy Zonda wheels (not tubeless mind you). Mounting the 5000s were not as easy as Corsa's but nowhere near as difficult as the 3000s, I did not need levers. As for road feel, the 5000s are very smooth and supple. I run about 85 psi and road grip and comfort are very nice. The profile of the tire is slightly more rounded than Corsa's which tend to make them wander a bit on straight tarmac, and therefore they feel a bit vague to me. Surprisingly, despite feeling vague on straights, this same feature makes them very lively on twisty sections, I can dig the front wheel in, push through the turn and the front wheel feels like it's on rails. Very nice. I've only a few 100K's on them so far, so cannot attest to treadwear yet. If they hold up longer than Corsa's this will be my new go-to tubed clincher - at least until I take the plunge into tubeless....
