The Scicon AeroComfort Road 3.0 TSA is a lightweight bike bag, designed to protect your bike from serious damage while traveling. While the metal frame defender and sturdy nylon straps ensure your bike is safely affixed in the main compartment of the bag, the frame, fork, components and finishing kit are protected by the padding woven into the outer panels of the bag and the removable padded protectors. The bag even has an in-built rear-mech protector to defend this particularly exposed component from knocks and bumps. The wheels neatly slot into the padded side pockets of the bag to complete this incredibly simple packing process. For a full guided tutorial on how easy it is to pack the Scicon AeroComfort Road 3.0 TSA, take a look at the video below.

Only requiring the removal of your wheelset, the Scicon AeroComfort Road 3.0 TSA is also one of the easiest bike bags to pack. Fortunately, fixtures, fittings and frame sizes shouldn't be a cause for concern with the Scicon Aero Comfort Road 3.0 Bike Bag. The mainframe defender accepts both 12mm thru-axels and QR wheel axel fittings and accommodates a range of frame sizes up to 62cm. This bike bag even fits handlebars up to a 48cm width.

While the basic structure of this bag holds your bike upright and very secure during transit, the opening process is also remarkably straightforward. With just one simple zip, you (or a customs officer) can access your bike quickly with minimal fuss, avoiding any unnecessary embarrassment in a busy airport terminal. The entire structure rests upon eight durable wheels which rotate 360 degrees to allow easy manoeuvre over any terrain – from smooth floors to uneven pathways.

Great bike bag easy to use

This is a great bike bag. Used it to travel to Tenerife and both the bag and bike got there and back without damage. Easy to pack bike away with the frame that attaches to the forks and stays. I even left the pedals on. Doesn’t take long to pack and will accommodate all your cycling gear (hat shoes etc) plus room for clothing etc. So fulfilling same role as suitcase. Opens up the possibility of riding abroad without much hassle.

Scion Aerocomfort Road 3

Mine arrived recently. It seems to be a high-quality bag. The outside is well-padded, the zippers are substantial, and the wheels roll smoothly. I like that it can be rolled up when not in use and stored in its own stuff sack. It takes up about the same space on my shelf as a camping tent. The instructions included with the bag are somewhat minimalist. (That's why only 4 stars.) There are some diagrams printed on the inside of the bag, but that's it. There are, however, some You Tube videos that were helpful. That information is shared below. The bottom tray is slotted and has a couple of velcro straps; I assume this is to secure a floor pump or something similar. I couldn't find anything in the instructions about the metal derailleur hanger protector. I saw a quick reference to it on one You Tube video -- it gets installed on the drive side of the quick release skewer for the rear wheel. By the way, the skewers from Scicon are different lengths; presumably the longer one is used on the rear mount. Another tidbit I found was a recommendation for the rear wheel assembly to be placed in the storage sleeve with the cassette facing outward so if the bag is squashed in some way it won't impact on the bike frame or any other delicate items. Tire pressure should be reduced so you don't encounter issues with ambient air pressure changes during shipping. Also, some users recommend removing the QR skewers from your wheels before packing and removing the pedals -- fewer protrusions that way. The rear derailleur should be adjusted inward for more protection. My bike is extra large and the handle bars are fairly high which made a tight fit going into the bag. I discovered there are 2 pads velcroed in where the bar ends and brake/shifters go. Removing them made the whole process easier. I also decided to loosen my adjustable stem and rotate the bars a few degrees downward, which will need to be reversed when I unpack. I splurged and bought a chain/derailleur cover to contain any grease that might accidentally get onto anything else in the bag. The set also had "mitts" to velcro over the brake/shifter levers for added protection. What remains to be seen is how well it all functions. I have several trips upcoming. Based on the design and quality of the the bag I don't anticipate any problems. I will update this review if I encounter any issues.

Sci-con bike bag

Purchased the bag because everyone raving about them. It has plenty of room inside for all your kit as well as the bike. The bike is solidly attached in the internal frame wheels are protected from the sides. However around the leaver area there does not seem a great deal of protection. When I arrived in Mallorca one of the leavers was bent inwards. Advise to undo and turn them in.

Solid Bike Bag Scicon 3.0 Road

Haven't travelled as yet, but the feel of the Scicon 3.0 gives me confidence that my bike will be safe. I have used a hard case previously and this bag is definitely going to be easier to travel with after having done a "Test Fit" of my bike, which is thru axled not quick release. My only issue was that due to the "thru axle" set up i have been unable to use the rear derailier protector, but having said that, the derailier is nicely tucked away and still appears to be safe.

Aerocomfort road 3.0 TSA bike bag

The bag was delivered very quickly and was everything I was hoping for. My bike was easily packed and ready for transport.
