I have had this bag for a couple of years now, and it never fails to impress. Even going through many airports and being handled by loads of heavy handed baggage handlers in many different countries, my beautiful bike has not sustained any damage. The bag is extremely easy to pack, and it is clear that Scicon have thought about everything for you so you don't have it. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.
Haven't tried on a plane yet but seems to be of a good quality, all of the included extras like wheel skewers and a pump etc. are a nice touch. There is lots of padding so looks like it will provide enough protection. Not a negative but worth mentioning is it is very large so would not go near the boot of a saloon car. I'm just hoping it will fit on the back seat.
I own my bag from different manufacturer. However, I fall in love with this bag when I saw it in the store. It is easy to use. I bought as a gift to my friend. I will probably buy my own. I found price here is the cheapest on the web including shipping to Saudi Arabia. the most I like about it is that you don't have to take off your handle bar. You also can protect most valuable parts of the bicycle.
After researching this bag on U Tube I was keen to see for myself just how easy it would be to pack up a bike. Surprisingly it comes with its own skewers to attach the bike to the internal frame. As well as this a rear derailleur protector is provided which slips between the frame and the rear axle skewer setup. Once this was sorted it was plain sailing attaching the frame protectors onto the frame and handlebars and then placing the wheels(less skewers) in the wheel bags and closing it all up. I have 44 cm handlebars on the bike I packed and the bag just managed these without stretching the bag or zip in any way.
This bag is amazing. Less than 10 minutes to have your bike packed & secured, and without the need to remove anything. Leave handlebars in place, saddle at its height, and leave the pedals on. The bike sits onto a frame for support, and there's a bracket to cover & protect the rear mech too. Wheels go into their own pockets on the sides, and you're ready to go.
Having read lots of different reviews, on all kinds of bike box/bags, found this Scicon Aerocomfort for great price, not thought needed. I have friends that have hard box's and dismantle their bikes to travel, and weight a lot. Just put your bike on the internal frame, wheels in side pockets zip up and go. You get extras in the bag also Bonus
Great product at an extremely competitive price. In my opinion, better than the EVOC, (which I also have)
faultless bag, what every travelling cyclist should have.
Just received this bag. Pleasantly surprised that it included a few extra goodies -- skewers to mount the frame to the metal bottom of the bag (I assumed you'd have to use your own or pay extra for some); a few pieces of extra 'scicon' branded padding; a spare caster/red wheel for the bottom of the case; and as a bit of a bonus, a scicon small bike pump. Still to be seen just how much rough treatment it can all take from airline baggage handlers as your wheels and frame still fundamentally provide the structure to the bag (so I'll be padding it out a bit), and whether it's going to cost me extra for being 'over sized' (even if under weight) as it is not small, but hey, it's much cheaper, lighter and less disassembly work than the hard case version. The 'free' delivery option to Austria took 3 business days although the initial processing before dispatch took about the same again.
The bike is very well protected . It’s simple to pack, reasonably light and tough fabrics are used all over the case. An impressive product.
You can't really fault it. It's got protection in all the right places and you don't need mechanical skills to pack your bike. You only need to take of the wheels! How easy is that?!
Scicon are ahead of the game. There's a lot of thought that's gone into this product including padding/protection in all the right places.
The scicon bike bag has been amazing. Used it for a recent cycling holiday and have no complaints just praise. Watched the video first to see how it all works and it couldn't be easier. After securing the bike there was plenty of room for accessories including the track pump and clothing for the week. No problems at the airport and such a pleasure to wheel around. At home it folds neatly away and is kept clean inside the cover provided. Have recommended to all cycling friends.
Excellent project!! Obviously they thought about every detail of the production item. Equipped to the last detail. Just fun to need it.
Really well made - fills me with confidence that my pride and joy will arrive safe and sound. Also requires limited dismantling of the bike which in my book is a real bonus.
The Scicon Aerotech 2.0 is an ideal choice for someone wanting to get their bike abroad safely and securely. It is light and fully packed with tools, bike and some extra kit it came in at under 23kg. It was a daunting thought to have to pack this at first, Having never done this before i didn't know what to expect. Thanks to the simplicity of the Aerotech 2.0 case and the clear click and go instructions was a piece of cake. I was very surprised how quick and easy the case was, it has a removable drag strap this makes the bag glide along even though it can be a little unstable on rough surfaces. Its has loads of neat little features that are very useful like a personal details zip pouch, a airport safe combination lock, spare wheels, rear mech protective case, extra padded corners over the handlebars and a saddle cover.
I had the opportunity to use both the Sicon TSA and Evoc bags on recent trip.We ended up buying the Sicon as my wife found it so easy to tow around the Airport and Hotel sand easy to pack.We added more padding and rotated the bars over .Also my New Giant Defy SL0 with ISP fitted perfectly ,with riding gear and tools etc some clothes it came in at 20kg . Looking forward to using it on our Trip from NZ to Spain in July.
Needed a new bag for a while, finally decided on this one after reading some decent write-ups on it. As ever, PBK's price was market leading, service was impeccable and I got a free gift! Great site - smash Wiggle for tailered service in top end cycling; Wiggle is just a retail unit these days.
Stunningly good soft bag that's easy to load and offers excellent protection, but expensive. The Scicon Comfort Plus is certainly pricey for a soft bag but it does go the extra mile in the protection stakes. The offset shape allows a road bike to be fitted inside with the bars in place. On our aero bike we only had to remove the extensions. The rigid base has a metal framework that secures the bike at both sets of dropouts. The wheels are taken care of with two integral padded bags. Inner pockets are there for your tools and pedals. It’s surprisingly lightweight for a bike bag that features a metal frame mount, at 6.9kg.
