Great pedals

5

I purchased these pedals because I wanted to go back to SPD style pedals. They are light and they look great on my road bike. I like how solid they feel and the medal cleats are more robust than the plastic of most other style pedals. They float very nicely which helps keep my knees happy. I'd recommend these to anyone.

Cleat change?

4

Pedals are fine, but I had to revert to my old cleats as a there seems to be a minor change to the back of the new one ones which makes them slightly harder to dis-engage, even on the slackest setting. New cleats were lined up to the nearest 1/2 a mm to previous settings when I tried them, and yes, I do realise that they'll wear in. I'm taking part in a sportive with 500+ others and I think I'll need to be able to unhook rapidly when some of them stop without warning! I'll have a look at a previously unused spare set of cleats that came with some M520's to see if there really is a slight design change.

Shimano A600 touring pedals

I installed the new pedals and took a quick 15 mile test ride. The clip in process was easy and the release process was the same. The setting for clipping in and out was set correctly so no difficulty as some people had mentioned in their write up. The pedals are lightweight and look nice. I would recommend purchasing these from ProBike who has the best prices around.

Solid all rounder

5

I bought these as a replacement for my old SPD pedals and I'm extremely pleased I did. For a start they feel solid, far more solid than my old pedals ever did. It feels as if much more of my effort is being transferred to the road than before. The clip in and clip out action is solid and positive and makes me feel firmly attached to my bike if that doesn't sound a bit daft. As a bonus they are reasonably light. Would recommend this product particularly, if like me, you use your bike for commuting and riding at the weekends.

Shimano SPD road pedals

5

Pedals are a great replacement for previous road pedals. I can use touring shoes with SPD cleats on my road bike. No more 'penguin walking' when getting coffee. Pedals so far haven't shown any sign of hot spots when used with touring shoes. Counterweight is good - they rest at the right angle for easy engagement.

lightweight touring pedals

I got these instead of the A520 pedals as they weigh a bit less (44 g). I prefer to use spd on the bike so I can use the recessed cleat shoe and I don't walk around like a penguin when off the bike. My A520's have lasted 6 years and over 20,000 miles and still going on another bike, so I hope to get similar endurance our of these. Only difference is they fasten with an allen key to the rear instead of a 15mm spanner which made for a bit of creative leaning to do up. They don't look out of place on my road bike which I use for sportives and triathlon.

Great pedal

This is the ideal solution for someone that wants to walk with cycling shoes. I have used these pedals for 3+ years and they have been problem free and easy to clip even though they are one sided. They are lighter than a mountain pedal and offer the side support found on a road pedal. I use S-works mountain pedals which are light weight and have a carbon sole - this is a great combination.

very nice pedals

For my go-fast-enough bikes, I ride with mtb shoes and SPD style cleats (go-faster bikes hsve Look road pedals). I like the less slippery, when off the bike, benefit of the mtbs. For budget purposes I outfitted my new rando/audax bike with some off-brand, low cost spd-ish pedals from my spare parts box. I planned to upgrade when those wore out. Then PBK had a sale. I idly looked and voila, I could get these for pennies on the dollar / pence on the pound. I orderedn and saw they would arrive (across the Atlantic) in a month. OK, I thought - winter's coming, I'm not riding as much, I've got pedals anyhow. The box arrived in less than ten days. (Many orders here in the USA aren't that quick! ) Pedals are Nice. The side parts coincide with the clears on my shoes, spreading the pressure noticably. (Hot foot hasn't been a problem, this may ensure it won't be, either. ) color of the pedals shipped to me is more a grey/silver than the blue shown online. I like that: blue would have kind of gone with bike color, but new color is a better match for other components. Let me summarize (or summarise): very nice pedals, delivered quickly.
