The Ultremo ZX V-Guard features Schwalbe's HD Speed and RaceStar Triple Compound. A V-Guard now ensures puncture protection. The high-tech compounds improve rolling and cut resistance.
Triple Star Compound: Schwalbe have developed the Triple Compound a stage further. After numerous tests, lab and practical tests they have now engineered highly technical single compounds.
Thes base of the tyre has a super-fast, light compound that is positioned under the tyre's centre tread.
V-Guard is a Kevlar belt that runs all the way around the tyre under the base compound to protect against punctures.

The Schwalbe Ultremo ZX Clincher is a fast tyre. I use these on my best wheels, Fulcrum 1s. I normally use the Michelin Pro Race 4, but thought I'd have a change. These are much better, more responsive, light and I have not had a puncture yet! I've had them a few months and they are wearing okay, and still look good. I bought the 23 size, you can also get the 25 size but the quality of the tyre is not so good.

The Schwalbe Ultremo ZX Clincher Road Tyre are great in wet and dry conditions especially on smooth tarmac. They're better than the Michelin pro 4 tyres.

Fitted these for a Sportive yesterday, they seem light and grippy and look good, definite improvement to my last set. I did however get a puncture, so can't vouch for the protection but may be statistically unfair / unlucky to judge from just 1 ride.

I upgraded my Schwalbe Ultremo ZX Clincher Road Tyre from my Schwalbe Lugano which came with my bike. I actually quite liked the feel of the Lugano tyres, they were very supple, gave me good grip and smoothed out some of the bumps.
The Ultremo ZX is a different category of tyre and you can certainly notice it. They roll very nicely when the road is smooth, much more so than the Lugano. I don't feel any less grip and have plenty of confidence to tip them into corners. The black tyre and detailing looks very sleek, I really like it.
As you might expect, they do give a harsher ride on older, rough roads (like the tarmac which is made of large gravel aggregate). But it's not a deal breaker and is something you expect on road/race bikes.
No punctures in the short miles I have done, just keep them pumped up (7 Bar, like my Luganos, which I only had 1 puncture in 1500 miles).

Awesome looks, grip and feel. I have found the durability ok in the 6 months I have been riding them - the odd small nick but not worn out and certainly more robust than my old michelin pro race 3's. I don't understand reviews that criticise the durability, these are designed as race tyres so built for speed not for training. That said, I have been quietly pleased with the results.They give a buttery smooth ride and seem to have endless grip, even pretty good in the wet.So, in summary - the fastest, smoothest clincher tyre I have used, but not cheap if you want to use them for every day riding.

I have been using these tyres since they first came out, having been a big fan of the Ultremo "R". Although they are marginally heavier than the "R" I have found that the puncture resistance seems significantly better. This could be down to luck but had a couple of "R"s go on the side walls and after a couple of thousand on these only 1 puncture. They can be inflated to a high pressure and roll real fast.I would definitely recommend these tyres and at this price are a steal.
Schwalbeâ€™s Ultremo tyres have always been top performers but the HD version finally delivers the survivability needed to make them a winning all-rounder.The ZX HD version adds more shoulder rubber over an ultra high density protective layer. Initial longevity signs are great with no tearing, shedding or deep cuts.The RaceStar Triple Compound feels great, too. Itâ€™s fast on the road, a feature thatâ€™s backed up on the rollers, yet still reliable through turns in wet or dry and clean or dirty conditions.The 23mm is buoyant for back road comfort but light enough for sprints. The coloured tyres are slightly more slippery
Extreme fast , good grip , many color choices , reasonable price for a high end tyre . Just need to wait to see if they can last long as the cracking problem have been improved.
These are an excellent race tyre with that little bit of extra durability over the R1. Grip is very good in the wet and awesome in dry conditions, easy to mount on several different wheels and the look of the white stripe version is stunning. Perhaps not quite as tough as a GP4000S but they do seem to roll extremely well. A highly recommended race tyre.
I got 2 punctures in my rear wheel in the first 1500km but have had a further 2000 without incident.A good cornering tyre and because of the high pressure capability they can roll very fast and easy too!They seem to be wearing well too.
sure footed tyre however for racing only or you will be disappointed with wear. Rear tyre was cut up beyond use after 800km , front still on at 1400km but not long to go

I purchased these and was very disappointed with their durability.Without doubt they do ride and handle well but for only 1 months riding and 3 races they let me down. The back tyre profile wore flat very quickly and I had two flats with it running at 115psi. The front tyre blistered in two places. Two of my clubmates run these tyres and have had blistering issues also.
I have these tires to be very reliable to resist punctures with a very solid puncture belt. They are very light and are a good choice as an all round summer tire. The tire's are very easy to mount and change onto a rim. They are fairly sticky and have a nice round shape for hard cornering. I am very satisfied with these and I will purchase another set when they wear out. I have a set on my bike, my wife's and my mother inlaws as well.
These are great.Read the review in Cycling Plus that gave them 5 out of 5 and considered these as their benchmark and bought them as a result.I've done about 300kms on these and the ride is fantastic, rolling resistance is excellent with plenty of grip in the corners. Puncture resistance is very good as I ride over a lot of glass on my regular rides, they are light and inspire confidence. Very much a magic carpet ride.buy them.
I have used Michelin Pro Race, Continentals (all models) , VittoriaCorsa Evo and now this line of Schwalbe from Durano to UltremoR1 to now the Ultremo ZX. I have found overall that the ZX has performed admirably in respect to durability, flat resistance, and grip and wear resistance. I have had the present set on for two seasonsincluding winter riding in Canada and they are just now starting to show wear after about 8000k per season, Definitely worth the cash.
