Have been using Clif Bar gels and bars for a few weeks now and decided to give the electrolyte drink a go. Nice taste, easy on the stomache.Report this review
Doing a lot of exercise and sweating heavily I use a lot of electrolytes, the clif electrolyte has a slightly higher salt content which is great as a replacement drink and the taste is not too strong. I have tried other products and this is the only one that doesn't cause any GI/ stomach problems.Report this review
I have used the Cranberry flavour regularly on rides over summer. One bidon with Clif and one without. The sugar content can be bad for your teeth, so I prefer to mix hydrating with the sweet stuff with a healthy dose of H2O. I used to have cramp problems but not since I've been using the two bidons. (could be the product or it could be the increase in fluids taken on).Report this review
This is quite simply my go-to source of electrolytes. I have tried other (cheaper) products in the past and they pale in comparison to Clif's electrolyte mix. The flavours are delicious and seem to provide a lasting source of energy.Report this review
... just mix a few scoops of powder into a bike bottle full of water, give it a shake, and seconds later we you have 40g of carbohydrate in an easy-to-absorb drink. The thing that differentiates it from its competitors is that its 92% organic, without as many artificial sweeteners as some other drinks. The organic ingredients also help to make it more palatable. Its not as sweet as as some we've tried, but it has a pleasant, natural taste. We used it on several long rides, swim sessions and a race, and it always quenched our thirst.Report this review
Lemon is not too sweet ideal for training, Cranberry is just a great taste, they seem to work well as an electrolyte plus their all natural.Report this review
The lemon is subtle & great while training if you don't want to be overpower with a strong taste, the cranberry is far from subtle but tastes great & really grows on you. Seems to do the job as an electrolyte plus it all natural ingredients.Report this review
Liquid fuels are the way to go in hard rides & races. They are easy to use, convenient & typically deliver quality nutrients. Clif has done a better job than PowerBar, but in my opinion the nutrient profile is still predominately sugar. Consequently you get a buzz & burn cycle as your blood sugar level oscillates between too much & not enough. The flavours are very sweet, not palatable to me.
If I may suggest, look into the products offered by ZipVit & Hammer Nutrition.
I've tried a few different electrolyte powders and I found this one (lemonade) to be fairly bitter. It did the job, but there are better tasting powders out there.Report this review
Excellent value sports drink powder. I have tried the cran-razz flavour and it seems the cranberry flavour takes a bit of the edge off, making it not too sickly sweet. Mixes pretty well although you do need to give the bidon a good shake to mix it up. Appears to hydrate well in really hot conditions. Give it a try.Report this review
