The R088 is a full-featured shoe from Shimano, perfect for club and recreational cyclist. The low profile, lightweight glass fiber reinforced-polyamide sole incorporates adjustable cleat mounts. New Shimano Dynalast secures the foot in the optimum ergonomic position to yield more power in the upstroke.
Comfort is provided by open mesh panels which provide excellent breathability and dual-density insoles. Stretch-resistant synthetic leathers hold your foot firmly, and a micro-adjust buckle provides incredible tension adjustment, even while riding.

.These road shoes are terrific !! I am a 42 European size and contrary to some reports on sizing a 42 Shimano ro88 are a perfect fit for me.You dont even notice you are wearing them.Performance wise I have improved my speed dramatically and apart from adjusting the cleats once to suit they are exactly what I wanted and were beyond my expectations.Fastenings are very comfortable and this shoe warrants its 5 star rating on price looks and performance. NIV.
Very Happy
This was my first pair of road shoes and I decided upon this pair after lots of looking. I was swayed by the price of these and how they looked and I have to say I am very happy with them. I was a tad confused with sizing and took a bit of a gamble without having tried any on before hand but I plumped for a size 40 (I am a UK size 6) and although they are snug they are fine size wise. They look great, they are nice and light and seem to be of a very nice quality. Just a shame they couldn't stop me falling off on my first go at being clipped in!!
Decent shoe
I've had these for over a year and found them to be comfortable and lightweight. There is plenty of ventilation making them a good summer shoe. Overshoes can be worn in warmer weather. This is the first purely road shoe that I've owned but I have put in a few thousand miles with them with no noticeable sign of wear yet.
