good basic bid

These shorts are good looking but sized a little smaller than some other brands. Although fit is an individual thing, these are comfortable and well padded.

Great fit for me

5

The shorts seem great quality, I have a selection of Castelli Velocissimo and Free Aero and a few different types from ODLO. These bibs are easily on a par with any of those. Good compression on a size large for my 6ft 1inch 12 stone frame. I find the pad really comfortable on rides upto 50 miles (I haven't gone further with them), much more so than the Free Aeros that do not agree with me, even on 20mile interval rides.

Go large

Good BIB shorts and initial rides very encouraging. You need to order a larger size as I am 6' 00'' tall, weigh 12st 10lbs and the XL size just fits me..

Nice value

Overall a nice budget bib. I bought this on sale, as it is nice to have a spare set of bibs to grab when the laundry has been neglected. The fabric is a bit thin and the padding/chamois is not the thickest, but it is comfortable and does not have the "diaper effect" of some other brands that do padding overkill. So far, it's survived multiple rides and washings. The fit is true to size and ventilation is adequate. This is a nice budget bib and I would recommend it to anyone looking to add a few value priced bibs or trying bibs for the first time. Not brand name (if you are into that kind of thing), but they look sharp and get the job done.

Great value

These shorts have a very supportive cut and the quality of construction is very nice at the price point. The pad is quite comfortable for medium distance rides. Overall the shorts have a high end feel and look for a very reasonable price.

Upgrading the review

My apologies, I wrote the previous review only giving it 3 stars. That was based on the grippers that seemed to not be very tight. I gave the shorts a go this weekend and I am not sure if the grippers are heat activated but they seemed perfect. These are a very good quality short that both look good and feel comfortable.

Just OK

The shorts arrived and while the pad seems very good, the leg grippers definitely would belong on a bigger man. The leg grippers are very loose and flap. In other words they don't fit snugly. I will flip them up and it should be ok. The price was good but if you want perfection, perhaps you have to spend a little more

Louviers pro bib shorts

3

Bought these hoping for a good long distance short, being towards the top end of PBKs own brand offering. Unfortunately the description didn't say what type of EI chamois they use - it's actually a medium distance one. Took them out for an 80 miler at the weekend. First 40 or so miles they were excellent, good fit, very comfy. After that though they quality of the pad started to tell. Would recommend these for anyone looking at short distance rides, but for longer distance riders, would look elsewhere.
