I had been struggling to find a pair of mitts that give enough padding in the right places without being too bulky. I like to have a bit of padding on the area of palm around the base of the thumb (I'm sure there must be a medical name for it!). Most of the mitts I've tried seem to ignore this area. These ones have quite thin but very effective gel pads in just the right positions, and the pads themselves have a grippy surface so it gives a very secure feel on your bar tape. I have worn large mitts in other makes, but I found XL just right with these ones. My only, very minor, gripe is that the Velcro patch for the fastening is larger than the strap, and armwarmers, and even the material of the mitt when it bunches up, can stick to it. Only a small point but could easily have been avoided. Definitely recommended
