The Hecto Drive 500XL is a durable, alloy front light. With 500 lumens of power and 8 different modes, you can tailor this light to suit a variety of light conditions from bright city streets, to dimly lit suburban lanes. It holds charge well too, with up to 20 hours of run time on a single charge. With an inbuilt USB stick charging this light is a breeze – simply plug the light straight into your computer.

With 300 lumens of power, 11 different modes and a new wide-angle lens that allows this light to be seen from angels of up to 270-degrees, the Strip 300 light will keep you highly visible from the rear too. Thanks to its silicone back and composite faceplate, the Strip 300 light is equally durable as the front light in this set. As a USB rechargeable light, it offers up to 57 hours of run time on a single charge.

In all, these two lights are combined to create a perfect light set for a variety of riding styles from commuting to training. Like most Lezyne lights, both lights use an adjustable silicone strap to fit any shape handlebar and seat post and can be swapped between bikes in seconds. All this performance is packed into a neat light set that weighs just 137 grams per pair, keeping clutter to a bare minimum.

Lezyne lights

I've been using these Lezyne lights for a few years now. My wife and I both have a pair, and we use them on virtually all of our rides, both night and day. They are well made, weather proof and quick to recharge. My only complaint is that the rubber cap on the back of the headlight can come off easily if you accidentally bump it with your knee. (what happened to my wife)

Lezyne Hecto light set

Make no mistake - these are great bike lights but they suffer that modern annoyance that pervades society currently, of being needlessly pfaffy. Why not just be content in the knowledge that you have created a superb light that can be switched on, and off and, perhaps, flashes. We do not need the extra phasing sequences - they only add annoyance. The other point worth mentioning is that they are not mountain bike friendly because of the rubber fixings and the different geometry. On my very standard mountain bike the front light goes on the bars - but only just! and the rear light doesn't quite go around the seat post (I can't fit it on the dropper post - clearly) and so has to make do around the gearing. It's such a shame that with a bit more design consideration (or even a slot for cable ties!) these issues could be eliminated...but maybe they don't expect mountain bikes to go on the road.

Good set of light

The rear light is very bright. The front light either. Very good set.
