From great to excellent !

Since not a single frame is identical to another there is no perfect solution for everyone. These muguards (fenders) may be perfect out of the box or they may need some cutting or customization or they may just not fit. As long as you frame has enough space for the Duotec (Velcro) attachment of the fenders (mudguards) on the inside of the seat stays and fork without interfering with the spokes, you can install them. However, you may have to cut them and sacrifice some protection if there is not enough clearance due to frame shapes and tire size. But, you'll still have some good basic protection. However, these fenders allow for great flexibility and customization. If you are willing to invest time and the of use of handy hands, tools and a little grey matter, they can become the perfect solution. Before buying go check videos on YouTube (search for "Crud MK3"). You'll have a better understanding of the pros and cons with regards to your bike and your own limitations (time, hands, tools or grey matter). To me, they are perfect.

Excellent fit

I saw these on GCN and thought I'd try them. Directions for installation were clear. I've installed them on a Cannondale Synapse Alloy, with calliper brakes and 25mm. tires. There are no clearance problems and installation is straight forward. Not sure if they would work with 28mm. tires (tyres).

Great fenders

My bike had no eyelets nor holes for any fenders, etc... these worked perfect on my CX bike with 35 tires.

These work great on my 2015 Giant TCX. kept my feet and back dry after riding through some puddles during my commute. highly recommend.

Velcro on MY bike? No way!

1

Requires sticking velcro to your bike. Unless you want hideous velcro on the inside of your seat stays and forks don't purchase this product. Nowhere in the description does it say this -- which is upsetting and misleading. It simply says "duotec interlocking system". It's suitable for a commuter bike or a grocery getter. I have 4 bicycles and I put this product on none of them.

Great for Disc Brake CX/Gravel Bikes

4

Really very good, pretty simple to fit (although I'd have liked a couple of wider grip strips for the front forks as I haven't placed the quite right so get a bit more wobble than I'd like) and provide really good protection from the wet and mud even on CX tyres. Have transformed my CX commuter into something I enjoy riding in the wet. Deducted one star just because they wobble a fair bit and the brush strips don't stop the resulting clacking sounds.

Dont fit every bike

1

They claim they fit all road bikes, but there was noway I could get the rear attached without it rubbing somewhere along the tyre & fitting the extension to the rear wheel to go behind the vertical of the frame was impossible and you have to cut it to even see if it will fit. Pretty useless.

Early review of MK 3

5

I had a rather easy time installing the MK 3's; good idea to watch the video on their site. I took longer than really necessary, as I wanted them to be just so. Once installed, they are quite effective. Little to no bounce, other than very rough roads such as crossing train tracks. So virtually no sound. Only one wet ride since installing them, and they worked perfectly. I will probably leave the rear guard on all the time, and remove the front guard unless the roads are wet. I'm pleased so far.

good for discs i'm sure

These look great and I am sure they are brilliant for disc brake road bikes, but not so great for calipers unless you have plenty of clearance. I use the MK2's on my winter bike with no problems, but the MK3's had no chance, wheels would not even move!!
