Whether you want a healthy mix, power pancakes, or a sweet taste to end your evening meal, we have it covered. Choose your favourite out of our top five pancake recipes to have this Pancake Day – have it as your cheat day, go on, we won’t judge you!

1) Breakfast Pancakes

Start the day how you mean to go on with a breakfast full of tasty goodness. Try these American-style pancakes to fill your stomach on Shrove Tuesday morning!

Ingredients: 

  • 130g plain flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 130ml milk
  • 2 tablespoons of caster sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter or olive oil
  • A small squeeze of lemon (optional)

Toppings:

  • Crispy bacon strips
  • Drizzle of maple syrup
  • Chopped up banana

2) Vegan Pancakes

If you are Vegan, like many road cyclists, it doesn’t mean you miss out on Pancake Day! We’ve got the perfect vegan pancake recipe for you to enjoy a flavoursome and healthy snack.

Vegan Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 1/4 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

Toppings:

  • Drizzle of maple syrup
  • Raspberries
  • Blueberries

 

3) Protein Pancakes

Why not combine your protein intake with a pancake mix? Eat these delicious protein pancakes as a treat after a gruelling ride on Tuesday evening.

Protein Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of oats
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 scoop of MyProtein Impact Whey powder – for the sake of this recipe, use vanilla flavoured powder, however you can choose from a number of different flavours
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of plain Greek yoghurt
  • 1/3 cup of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar (or honey)

  • Peanut butter
  • Banana slices

4) Gluten-free Pancakes

For gluten-free pancakes, we have an incredibly simple recipe that will make a delicious pancake mix.

Ingredients:

  • 125g gluten-free plain flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 bananas
  • 250ml milk
  • line the frying pan with butter

Toppings:

  • Sprinkle of sugar
  • Squeeze of lemon
  • Chocolate chips

5) Savory Pancakes

You don’t just have to feed your sweet tooth on Pancake Day, there are a number of savory pancake recipes that you can devour as your main meal. Our favourite savory pancakes have a simple mix and are a delight.

Ingredients:

  • 100g plain flour
  • 2 large eggs, plus one beaten for brushing
  • 150ml of milk

Filling:

Savory Pancakes

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 200g pack of smoked bacon
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 200g of chopped mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons of flour
  • 400ml of milk
  • A handful of chopped parsley

Topping:

  • 50g of breadcrumbs
  • Salad or beans (optional)
  • Any additional veg (optional)
