Arriving this week is the 2010 range of wheels from Fulcrum. We had the chance to see these wheels at the Eurobike show last month and were impressed.

“Year after year, Fulcrum continues to innovate and amaze with its range of wheels and components that consistently raise the bar on high performance. The first preview of the 2010 range regards the Fulcrum Racing 3, which for the upcoming year has been redesigned and will be available in two versions: Racing 3 and Racing 3 2-Way Fit. The former is dedicated exclusively to the use of standard tyres” – from the Fulcrum website.

The Racing 3 is largely unchanged apart from the new Fulcrum skewer which can be seen in the first picture, weighing in at 1659g for the set they could well be the ideal training and racing wheel in one. The rim is 24mm deep with an oversize aluminium hub. Spoke count is 16 and 21 at the back which sticks with the 2:1 ratio, all bladed stainless steel spokes.

Without the profile/machined rim of the racing 3’s the 5’s gain approx 100g.

The racing 7’s at just £159.99 rrp are set to become a winter favourite and will still perform well in a race or on the track.Keeping the 2:1 spoke ratio on the rear (20/24) they’ll be stiff enough and weighing in at 1930g they come in around the same as the competition.
