Le Coq Sportif cycling clothing is one of the few remaining cycling brands that still carries it’s heritage and tradition into the modern day. Priding themselves on keeping the romance of cycling alive, they hold the annual L’Eroica vintage cycling race in the heart of Tuscany.
The brand itself has it’s roots in a small hosiery shop, which was founded in 1882 in North Eastern France in Romilly-sur-Seine. Much like the story of other material and clothing manufacturers the store soon started to experiment with other types of designs, but unlike many other stores, this establishment would go on to become a worldwide, universally recognisable brand.
Highlights over the last century include: the invention of the sweatsuit, becoming the official Tour de France cycling jersey supplier, branding the French national football, rugby and olympic team’s kits, until becoming one of the world’s biggest sportswear brands with its roots firmly in cycling.
