Endura Racing aren’t a team that you’ll find on the podium of any Grand Tours, for the time being anyway. The British team currently hold a UCI Continental cycling licence and mainly race across Europe and Britain. The Scottish based team were founded in 2008 and have been quietly gaining momentum over the past few seasons.
For 2012 the team have made some big signings including Team Sky rider Russell Downing, a duo of Motorpoint riders Jonny McEvoy and Ian Bibby, as well as Tiernan-Locke, Dean Windsor and Zak Dempster from the Rapha Condor team. Relatively unknown outside the UK the boys in black and lime green have been pulling out some big results early on in the season. Most notably Jon Tiernan-Locke had a dream start to the season claiming the overall GC at the Tour Mediterranéen in early February. Not only did he outdo several ProTour teams, including Garmin Barracuda and AG2R, the Devonian rider smashed the field claiming an overall lead of 27 seconds! Past winners of the Tour Mediterranéen include riders such as Eddy Merckx and Paolo Bettini so expect big things from JTL in the future.

Based in Scotland the Endura team need a kit that will withstand the harsh elements found in the kilt clad country. With Endura being the main title sponsor it’s no shock that the award winning Scottish clothing company provide the team with their kit. Endura have worked closely with Endura Racing Professional Cycle Team and developed a range of kit for the riders. Without further ado let’s take a closer look at some of their kit.
Unlike most team kit the Endura Racing jersey has quite an elegant look about it with subtle branding and sponsorship not managing to overwhelm the design. The kit could have quite easily been engulfed with a wave of lime green (the team colours), however, a black jersey with splashes of green and white with a dash of red, in the form of the SRAM logo, creates a rather sophisticated feel. All of Endura’s team kit are handmade in the UK. Having not outsourced the manufacture of its apparel allows Endura to keep a close eye on quality control and this is clearly evident in the superior feel of the jersey. As with all Endura products the team jersey has been developed upon a platform of thorough design focussed on functionality and performance. All this has been proven through an extensive testing regime. The philosophy behind the Endura Equipe apparel is focused mainly on the high end road cycling demographic and this is clear in the aerofit cut making this a close fitting aero dynamic garment. Lycra fabric produces a body sculpting jersey while the stretch fit of the material allows the jersey to adapt to the movement of your body while putting in those hard miles. The main body of fabric is made from an ultrafast-wicking, dry handle CoolMax material which allows a dry and smooth fit  even during long periods of exertion. 3D Mesh textured panels help regulate body temperature while offering rapid drying for the under arm and side body areas.

A date on the back of the neck indicates when the jersey was produced.

This jersey has the traditional three rear pockets for all those riding essentials. The pockets are deepened with a chamfered side and an elasticated top offer a little more security to items. An outer cam lock YKK zipped pocket is ideal for those more valuable riding possessions.
An elasticated waist hem has a silicone lining securing the jersey in position and reducing any possible drag. Even the sleeves have a thin grip service that stops the sleeves from riding up leaving you looking pro all day long. A practical full length YKK camlock zip allows for easy temperature adjustment and a fast change into that podium jersey.
The Endura Racing Team Bib Short offers a classic ergonomic eight panel design. Italian Power Lycra provides optimum stretch and recovery properties with minimum weight providing firm yet gentle muscle compression. This is a great fitting pair of bib shorts giving you the feel and fit of a pro piece of clothing. No expense has been spared on the three dimensional Italian pad which is constructed in two moulded halves. This enables the pad to massage contact areas during your ride and improve circulation. Sounds fancy, but the pad also houses functional properties such as allowing a faster dry after being washed. Endura Racing lime green microfibers with permanent antibacterial finish keeps you feeling fresh and smell free for that post ride latte at the café. Elasticated leg openings are lined with external silicone leg grippers in the shape of the Endura Equipe logo. These not only add a nice little aesthetic detail but are also designed to perform better than the traditional rubber based gripper. A small laser cut rear pocket with a rubber finish round the opening sits nicely at the back of the shorts. Big enough to fit an MP3 player, mobile phone or race radio, this small pocket offers a little extra pocket space. Side panels made from 3D Mesh offer excellent ventilation for your legs helping regulate body temperature during a hard ride while a rapid drying textured panel helps maintain muscle support. A mesh back and bib provides great breathability without compromising comfort and fit.

If you’re at the ambitious end of the cycling spectrum this is the team kit for you. Whether you’re racing or hitting personal goals during your rides, you can’t go wrong with the Equipe range of team clothing from Endura.
