Dave, PBK’s intrepid roving reporter is swanning round Australia at present and in-between watching the World Champs and doing his best to blag free meals and accommodation, he managed to grab two interviews with the professionals.
Women’s Road World Champion Giorgia Bronzini Interview:
First up was a quick interview with the 2010 women’s World road racing champion – Giorgia Bronzini of the Italian national squad. Dave caught up with her by legging it down Melbourne main street and asking oh so nicely if it would be possible for a quick chat. While the rest of the team popped in to a fast food joint, they had a chin wag about the world’s win. Her understanding of the English language was awesome, Dave however seemed to rely heavily on the use of ‘excellent’ to get him through!
Ruben Molina interview at The World Cycling Championships in Geelong:
Hanging around a bus shelter drinking cheap booze, Dave found the Spanish team. He insists it was them on the cheap stuff and who are we to argue? Then they got up hurled abuse at the women in their TT team, followed by some window shopping. Some of this is true (2 bits anyway.) But in-between all this mayhem, Dave managed to get hold of one of Spain’s main men, a certain Mr Ruben Molina. To try and stop himself over using the word ‘excellent’ again, he has adopted an Anglo Spanish accent this time and we can assure you, he doesn’t speak like this normally! Here’s a quick interview with the man himself course side in Geelong.
Thanks Dave for grabbing these interviews, he assures us he’ll be sending more soon. In the meantime, if you see him, grab a photo and post it on our facebook fan page for us all to see!
