shimano 6800 Wheelset

This is my second pair of Shimano 6800 wheels that I have purchased from PBK. I bought my first pair for my road bike and bought a second pair for my cyclocross bike. PBK had the best price that I could get. Shipping is a little longer to the U.S. but I was not in any hurry. I purchase most of my cycling parts from PBK and have for some time now.

This is my second pair of Ultegra wheels (for my second bike). At that price, I wouldn't go for anything else. They're as light as wheels priced 5 times more, they're solid and they provide a smooth feel when riding. The only thing is they look flash but personally I have no problem with that.

New Wheels=New Bike

Or that's what I have heard. And they were right. Good price with an excellent ride. Far more of a solid and professional feel than my last set. Not the lightest (nor the heaviest) in the world but I'm competing only with myself. They'll do just fine, thank you..

What a lovely set of wheels! they beat my Mavic equipe s's hands down. Stiff but light and roll beautifully and at this price they are a must

So So

Like many products that do two things (clincher and tubeless), these wheels do neither well. They look lovely, but these are the first set of wheels I've owned where I've had to use tire leavers to mount a set of clinchers - tires are horribly difficult to get on and off. I will likely relegate them to my "summer" bike and fair-weather rides, where there's little chance of a puncture - I can't even imagine struggling to change a tire on these hoops on a dark, wet ride in the middle of winter....

Best bang for the buck for wheels

Theses needed a little bit of truing due to international shipping couriers (we don't know how freighters handle boxes: mine was dented on the side. No damage to the rim.). Bought these rims because I broke my Shimano rs81 c35 rear wheel and this set was less expensive than just the rear rim of the rs81 c35. Wheels spin up with some effort due to the mid-weight wheel, but once they get going they want to stay at speed. They're good at climbing out of the saddle, no brake rubbing for me (140lbs rider). Exposed nipples means easy to service when they need truing. The tubeless standard on these rims means that mounting clincher tires/tubless tires takes more effort than your standard clincher rim. Be patient with the rims and tires and you'll thank yourself later on. In sum, awesome performance for the price. I would say they're on par with my former rims (rs81 c35) which were double the price of these 6800 wheels.

What you'd expect from Shimano

This wheel set is a great replacement wheel. I had a set of Bontrager race lights that I was using as every day wheels and was never happy with how they felt. These wheels have added a little fun back to the bike. They are snappy and have a crisp transfer of power. I have been impressed by the smooth feel and quick response to my pedal stroke. There is usually nothing sexy about your every day training wheels but these bring a little more to the table. They are just as comfortable in a sprint as they are in a long climb. This really is a great wheel for this price and I would buy them again in a heart beat.

Ultegra Wheels

The 6800 Ultegra wheels arrive in Colorado 7 days after my order was placed. Well packaged and free from damage. As an engineer I think the wheels are very well build and lighter than any previous clincher road wheels I've owned. The skewers seemed heavy and found they weighed 120 g for the set (decided not to change them for something lighter. Installing Conti 4000 tires was tough - had to use tire levers. Since found the wheels are larger in diameter than most wheels. They ride very nice but on a rough road could feel lots of vibration (shows the wheels are rigid); I will probably drop my size 23 tire pressure from 105 to 100 PSI and perhaps try size 25 tires for my next set of tires.

Neveragain.

Recieved Ultegra 6800 wheelset... Packaged very poorly. Had them professionally installed.. Immediately notice excessive cassette wobble... Contacted Shimano who said there shouldnt be any at all. Contact Probikekit and communication was poor to say the least... Wheels have zero miles on them... requested exchange after sending photos... no further communications occurred from probikekit. Return exhcange policy is horrible.

Awesome upgrade

Best bang for your buck!! I mounted Grand Prix 4000- 25 tyres on and they are a great combo. Shipping was free to Canada and took about 3 weeks. The duty charge was only 26$, which is still a huge savings from buying them in Canada. Overall great product and would highly recommend as a modest upgrade to most stock wheelsets.
