We proudly present Fulcrum's newest member of its Racing family, with an extension of its already wide selection of disc brake specific wheelsets. The Fulcrum Racing 3 DB represents the newest and perhaps most versatile wheelset to date. Its aluminium construction and performance design make it a surprisingly efficient and reliable wheelset, sure to please no matter where it is put to the test.

While the Fulcrum Racing 3 DB can certainly be used for pure road racing, it excels in road endurance and gravel, making it an extremely versatile all-around wheel. Performance does not always require rigidity and for endurance or gravel scenarios a more comfortable and compliant wheelset translates to better riding. The Racing 3 DB’s construction allows it to be 25% more comfortable than the pure road racing specific Racing Zero for example.

Lower tyre pressures, bigger tyre dimensions, better grip, wider rim structure, increased comfort and better braking make for a long list of advantages that only a performance wheelset can bestow upon ride quality. The criteria for performance around this very versatile wheelset might be different but there is no denying that it is performance oriented but with a valuable dose of extreme versatility included. There are few better choices for the cyclist looking for the right tool for the job. The 1660 gram Racing 3 DB oddly enough is the right tool for many different jobs.

Fulcrum Racing 3 DB just arrived!

My beautiful Racing 3 wheels came in today nicely protected in their package. Good job from ProBikeKit who kept me posted on the cross-Atlantic transit. The nice sturdy tyre levers will go directly in my saddle bag as I the Schwalbe Performance One, size 28, went on the rime like a breeze. I am almost looking forward to my first road side puncture! Rubber looks really sticky. Just one surprise: the hubs require centrelock rotors. Not really faulting ProBikeKit for this. What fooled me is manufacturer showing 6-bolts on the product web site and do not specify the mount type in the details. I'll post again on wheel performance once I have found rotors that fit. Suggestion to ProBikeKit: Give us a one-stop-shop, increase your revenues and start offering rotors and cassettes (compatible of course) .

Good value and quiet

I've put a few thousand miles on these wheels, and I find them simple, durable and not too stiff as to be uncomfortable. They have stayed true so far. Initially the freehub clicking was almost silent; now it is just very quiet, which I like. They look good in an understated way, especially if the stickers are ripped off the rim. The finish is a matte black that cleans well. Tires are a little difficult to put on these wheels, but not really a problem. I have not done any type of gravel riding with these wheels, although I go down some pretty fast descents that have a horrible road surface. I'm a recreational cyclist: 65 years old, 175 lb, Litespeed T2, Ultegra Di2, hydraulic disk brakes. 40 miles, 3 times a week, with 3000 feet of climbing each ride.
