Bought these as my friends has ridden on them for the past year. Have done 400km on them so far and really pleased. No punctures, good grip on dry and damp roads

Best Tires Made

5

I've tried most of the 23mm performance tires out there, and the Vredestein Fortezza TriComp has been the most impressive in terms of performance and longevity. I always weigh each tire when received, and the TriComps always come in at 230 grams +/- 10 grams. I weigh 175 pounds, and the tread will start showing patches of bare cord material only after 4,000 km. I've gotten 5,000 km out of some of these on the rear, 7,000 on the front goes without saying unless you suffer a tread cut. In the winter, riding in daily Pacific Northwest rain and sanded/salted roads, the tires seem to be able to resist sidewall tears at the bead beyond 3,500 km, which is longer than most Vittorias and Contis I have used. In fact, Conti GP's seem highly prone to sidewall failure, with inexplicable tears appearing. You never see sidewall tears on TriComps, only the odd tear at the bead just above the rim, and only after lots of wet riding. The tires are somewhat hard to mount, so need to be stretched by hand just a bit. After you've removed them a couple of times, they are easy to mount. They are good on dry high-speed cornering, sticky and easy to control, but I have noticed a bit of slippage when pushing an aged (as opposed to freshly-) wet turn.

Excellent value

Coming from Schwalbe Ultremo R1, GP4000 and Gators these are a breath of fresh air. They're an incredibly hard wearing race tyre, take high pressure (170psi) and are easily as puncture resistant as Gators.

Great Ride

5

Only recently have I tried these tyres. Previous to these my favourites were Gatorskins. I was surprised how nice Vredesteins ride. They certainly take the harshness out! It is almost like going from a alloy frame to carbon. The grip is the best I have ever known on a clincher. I can power in and out of corners with absolute confidence. Very impressive. I am not dare devil so I am more careful in the wet, but again, they have proved very very good. They do tend to feel not so responsive at around 100psi as the Gators. On my scales they weigh in at 240gms. However, where the Gators feel harsh at higher psi, these feel good at 120psi and seem to come alive. (I have not tried them above 120.) Puncture resistance seems very good too. Only one puncture in about 4,000km on the rear which was getting pretty thin by then. (I am 85kg) I have rated them as 5 stars but my only reserve is that I wouldn't consider them an all out race tyre. They are just a little heavy for that when compared with Michelin Pro, Schwalbe ZX, Conti Supersonics and so on. As for training, I am sold on them. They are great!!

Excellent Sportive Tire

5

The Vredestein Fortezza Tri Comp is an excellent road tire. This tire has a supple casing and durable rubber tread with provides good cornering grip and wears well for a lightweight tire. The tire feels lively and rolls quiet well. With regard to the recommended 145 PSI inflation presser, I do not recommend riding the tire at this pressure. While the tire itself is strong enough to handle this pressure, most inner tubes are not up to the task of handling such high pressures. And, while the tires will roll effortlessly at 145 psi, you'll experience a higher tube failure rate...IMHO. The ride can also be a bit harsh a 145 psi... especially on rough roads. I would not hesitate to buy this tire at the right price, however other brand name tires offer competitive products that can be had for fewer dollars.

Fantastic

They don't cut. They also don't "squirm around" in corners.

Had over ten flats

I purchased these tyres in March and have road three centuries not with these tyres. Not sure what was is going on but had mostly blow outs (8 0f them). Got to where I would take three tube with every ride used then most of the time.

Awesome choice

Since I started using these tyres I feel safer when riding, especially in wet conditions. In addition you can use high pressures, which is an interesting feature.

And by the way I must say that the blue version looks great on my bike, which is also something to take into account

Great all around tire

4

The feeling you get from these running high psi/bar is amazing. A different feeling from other tires that don't accept that kind of pressure. But not all clincher wheels can accept that high pressure... so check the specs on your wheels. These tires are on the heavy side, not something you readily notice, but if you're shy about adding about 50grams, then that is a point to consider. Wear and durability are great with this tire.
