The Ultremo ZX V-Guard features Schwalbe's HD Speed and RaceStar Triple Compound. A V-Guard now ensures puncture protection. The high-tech compounds improve rolling and cut resistance.
Triple Star Compound: Schwalbe have developed the Triple Compound a stage further. After numerous tests, lab and practical tests they have now engineered highly technical single compounds.
The base of the tyre has a super-fast, light compound that is positioned under the tyre's centre tread.
V-Guard is a Kevlar belt that runs all the way around the tyre under the base compound to protect against punctures.
The Ultremo ZX V-Guard is the best Ultremo there is!

Just back from 800km riding in the Alps and most impressed with the grip on these tyres. They are so reassuring in corners that I kept pushing deeper and deeper to some frankly mad cornering angles - sufficient to catch motorbikes on twisty descents. Did a long, large radius corner at nearly 100km/h and it just stuck to the road. Most impressed - epic, frankly. Yes, these can be fragile, so keep away from potholes, road debris and grit, and don't lock them up, but they are racing tyres. No idea how well they work in the wet as I backed off then - but other reviews talk of good wet weather grip.
Its a great tyre, makes the bike feel secure going around corners and great grip in the wet. Great choice of colours as well.
i feel so good when used on road cycling, feel fast and stable on road.
Bought these because they are what was fitted to my Cube Peleton when I bough it last year. The front has now done 5000 miles. The rear was changed after about 2500 miles as it had a nasty cut. In the interim period I have tried several other tyres - all quality tyres - with varying tpi's but none improved on the puncture resistance or general resistance to damage and none came close to the low rolling resistance and general speed of these tyres. Overall in my opinion they are a great fast tyre that are long lasting with good puncture resistance.
Excellent value for money, I got myself a set of Schwalbe, because I fancied a change, I'm us to continental gp4000s, but after making the change to Schwalbe I think it was the best thing I could ever do, they feel so smooth, the roll-ability is brilliant,it feels like the wind is on your back, I got myself a green set, which looks gorgeous, especially, at dusk. Now I'm in love with my,Schwalbe Ultremo ZX V-Guard Clincher Road Tyres
Nice and fast Tyre and to a good price !
A fantastic clincher.. performs faultlessly and tracks really well. I had Mich Pro4 Service course on previously and they feel every bit as good if not better. Roll on the good weather so I can see how they perform then….
Love these tyres grip well wear well , give a smooth ride
Every year I do a search looking for what are the best tyres to buy and every year these beauties come out best buy. Been using them for 3 years now and they have never let me down. Excellent grip, good durability and great value for money especially at the great PBK prices. Highly recommended.
Used a pair of these last year on several sportives, training rides and on our trip to the alps. Excellent grip in all conditions, even on a very wet descent of the col du Madeleine. Light and fast too. Bought these now at half the rrp ready for the summer.
Super tyre at a good Price
I have been using the Schwalbe Ultremo range of tires for several years now, also a few other top brands. But the Ultremo rolls so smooth and the cornering is the best I've ever experienced whether here in the Swedish highlands or fast Alpine decents and only 2 punctures in 6-7 years .
My favourite road tyres at a very good price. Put away for next summer...
The Schwalbe Ultremo ZX Clincher is a fast tyre. I use these on my best wheels, Fulcrum 1s. I normally use the Michelin Pro Race 4, but thought I'd have a change. These are much better, more responsive, light and I have not had a puncture yet! I've had them a few months and they are wearing okay, and still look good. I bought the 23 size, you can also get the 25 size but the quality of the tyre is not so good.
The Schwalbe Ultremo ZX Clincher Road Tyre are great in wet and dry conditions especially on smooth tarmac. They're better than the Michelin pro 4 tyres.
Fitted these for a Sportive yesterday, they seem light and grippy and look good, definite improvement to my last set. I did however get a puncture, so can't vouch for the protection but may be statistically unfair / unlucky to judge from just 1 ride.
I upgraded my Schwalbe Ultremo ZX Clincher Road Tyre from my Schwalbe Lugano which came with my bike. I actually quite liked the feel of the Lugano tyres, they were very supple, gave me good grip and smoothed out some of the bumps. The Ultremo ZX is a different category of tyre and you can certainly notice it. They roll very nicely when the road is smooth, much more so than the Lugano. I don't feel any less grip and have plenty of confidence to tip them into corners. The black tyre and detailing looks very sleek, I really like it. As you might expect, they do give a harsher ride on older, rough roads (like the tarmac which is made of large gravel aggregate). But it's not a deal breaker and is something you expect on road/race bikes. No punctures in the short miles I have done, just keep them pumped up (7 Bar, like my Luganos, which I only had 1 puncture in 1500 miles).
Awesome looks, grip and feel. I have found the durability ok in the 6 months I have been riding them - the odd small nick but not worn out and certainly more robust than my old michelin pro race 3's. I don't understand reviews that criticise the durability, these are designed as race tyres so built for speed not for training. That said, I have been quietly pleased with the results.
They give a buttery smooth ride and seem to have endless grip, even pretty good in the wet.
So, in summary - the fastest, smoothest clincher tyre I have used, but not cheap if you want to use them for every day riding.
I have been using these tyres since they first came out, having been a big fan of the Ultremo "R". Although they are marginally heavier than the "R" I have found that the puncture resistance seems significantly better. This could be down to luck but had a couple of "R"s go on the side walls and after a couple of thousand on these only 1 puncture. They can be inflated to a high pressure and roll real fast.
I would definitely recommend these tyres and at this price are a steal.
Schwalbe’s Ultremo tyres have always been top performers but the HD version finally delivers the survivability needed to make them a winning all-rounder.
The ZX HD version adds more shoulder rubber over an ultra high density protective layer. Initial longevity signs are great with no tearing, shedding or deep cuts.
The RaceStar Triple Compound feels great, too. It’s fast on the road, a feature that’s backed up on the rollers, yet still reliable through turns in wet or dry and clean or dirty conditions.
The 23mm is buoyant for back road comfort but light enough for sprints. The coloured tyres are slightly more slippery
