1 tire fast and grippy enough for racing while durable enough for training.
Report this reviewAlways great. Unfortunately, I had a side wall cut puncture on first ride with this set and had to replace one immediately. Not the tyres fault though and these things happen. As a user with 1000's of miles of hassle free riding on these over the years, I can testify for their underlying quality.
Report this reviewThis is a really great tire for all around cycling. Nice ride, quite supple, great handling. On the negative, which for me is unforgivable, is that the sidewalls are extremely prone to failure. This makes them dangerous, and untrustworthy. I have owned two sets of the previous GP4000 and never had a problem with either, and ran them between 3-4000 miles each. With these, the pair both catastrophically suffered from sidewall failure, both with less than 400 miles on them. In both cases, the roads were smooth, and free of grit, they just gave way, and burst. Have suffered through a bad crash, I could never buy these again.
Report this reviewHave used these tires for years. They provide excellent grip and feel great on the smooth and rougher roads. They inspire confidence when cornering and hold their grip nicely. I have found they get a little jumpy after 3000-4000km and lose their grip slightly by that point. No issues with flats although ride easy on large gravel...that is where I had my single flat over the past two years.
Report this reviewThe continential grand prix 4000 S II are the best road tires I have ever ridden on. I found these to have the best combination of rolling resistance, puncture resistance, durability, and speed. Found these to be an all-around excellent, dependable, fast tire for a good price. I would use them for a race, and for everyday commuting. These go on sale frequently, so always grab a pair when you can. Only downside is that there is no tubeless option. Dealing with probikekit was great. I went cheap and chose the free non-tracked shipping option, which took a while to deliver. In fact, it was delivered 2 days after the range of dates specified by probikekit. I inquired, and they promptly responded. Would buy from here again.
Report this reviewThis isn't the first time I have purchased these tyres. Currently I believe they are the best tyres to suit my riding, giving good tyre life and puncture resistance.
Report this reviewgot the conti today installed easy, took a two hour ride just to try them out noticed the improved handing in the first few km i think i will purchase a few more for 2018
Report this reviewMy tyre of choice for the past 3 years straight. Nothing performs better or gives me the confidence like these do. Wet, dry weather, severe gradients up or down...never failed me.
Report this reviewBeen riding these for about 10 years now, after growing tired of flats on lesser tires. Rarely do I flat these days (riding/racing 3-4 days/week) and just saying that is a risk I can afford to take. No jinx can change my experience. Not looking to switch since these are respected as the best all-around tires on the road.
Report this reviewGot these on sale at a very decent price, one of the best tires on the market. IMO, best bang for your buck!
