Great tyre
5These are excellent tyre so for the roads I ride on. I have used the 4000S and they seem to get worn out very fast due to the road surface in some parts of my neighborhood. Since switching to the Gators all my problems have disappeared. I did not notice any difference between the 4000S and the Gatorskins while riding. Very satisfied with these types.

4Needed a little extra tire for a gravel grinder. The tires stood up to some really rough Vermont back roads, if you care to call them roads. I used a road bike with rim brakes. The hilly nature of this ride made for tough braking. The wheels tended to swim on descents, which made for some scary turns. The plus side is that these tires were bullet proof. I ran over or through some minefields along the way. Overall ride comfort was a plus on asphalt surfaces. While these tires performed well, I will avoid gravel grinders in the future.

5Tired of punctures? Try these gatorskins! Long life and I have never had a puncture. Not a race tire but just a great training tire.

3I purchased two of these and fitted one to each to our carbon road bike rear wheels. A bit tricky to get on even with good lever, grip less than the Schwalbes we had on. After starting our first ride, six miles in and a crack and bang! The sheep nearby ran for their lives and my wife was convinced we were being fired on by someone. Burst tube! Replaced and she returned home. Got home inflated to working pressure and put bikes away. Next week go to get bike and tube has burst again. Tyre side wall fault, beading exposed and cause of bursts. Sending back faulty, hope they replace my two tubes too. Beware and check these carefully.

5I have used the wire beaded gator skins previously and while I liked the tyre, they were killers to get on and off rims. These folding tyres are much, much easier, no tyre levers needed.

5I have been using these tires for a few years on my road bike (700x25) and have found them to be the best combination of ride and flat protection. Using the Gatorskins with tire liners has worked very well in almost 20,000 miles of cycling. I normally get around 3,000 miles for a rear tire, little more for the front. The roads where I ride are not good and have a lot of debris.

5Very durable training/touring tire that rides really nice; excellent value. Particular favorite is the 25cm for comfort and traction in all weather conditions.
