Like every cyclist knows seats are a very personal thing. I have tried many of my years of cycling and the Arione just works for me, just the right amount of padding for all rides short to long, endurance to race. PBK had it on sale for the best price so it was a no brainer.
My 2nd Fizik saddle I've owned and the Arione R3 is not only a beautiful looking saddle but really comfortable too. My bike really is starting to look like a pro cycling bike, just like some of the great names of cycling use like Wiggins, Quintana, Cavendish, Froome and Nibali to name a few. The only reason for a 4 star is that it's not as light as the R1 but on par in every other category. ProBikeKit also has the best price on all Fizik saddles so don't hesitate, by far the best value for money on the market.
I bought the Arione Large, having already purchased the Regular size, as a direct result of Fizik's Spine Concept app, which determined I was a Snake and not a Chameleon or a Bull. I found the Regular a little hard and quite unkind to my perineal region; hence why I bought the Large. In truth I found the Large to be no different. I then noticed that neither Chris Froome nor Peter Sagan (though not now sponsored by Fizik) used the Arione, yet they must be fairly flexible; and so I abandoned the Spine Concept and went for the Bull's saddle: the Aliante (Regular VS). This saddle is far more agreeable to my behind. My advice is do not pay too much heed to the Spine Concept. For the record my sit bones are 110 mm apart, my weight is 75 kg and my bike has drops with a semi-aggressive riding position.
