I have these pedals on my downhill bike my BMX bike my aero bike and my road bike I don't have to worry about what shoes I picked up. I can clip in faster than any road person I am up and to speed before they're out of the gate. Doing group rides I can be up and clipped and out of the way when people are fumbling trying to find their pedal.

M520 SPD Pedals

So far they seem like a solid choice (one week in). I do a mix of Mountain and Road and use this pedal for both. The keep my power locked to the drive-train and are easy to clip out of if needed. Especially with the adjustable tension.

Good, basic, not for beginners

Good basic pedals. Not recommended for beginners who should start with a one sided pedal with easier release like the Click'R series from Shimano.

Shimano M520 Pedals

For the price, I believe these pedals are excellent value. I bought two pair. Decided to use SPD MB shoes on my Road bike as well as MB. Just so much easier to walk in MB shoes and at 68 years old my racing days are over.

My new Shimano M520 SPD pedals are excellent. I've used Shimano pedals on all my bikes and have never been disappointed. For the price these can't be beat.
