Delighted with these pedals Double sided are brilliant Easy to use and fit Perfect for the beginner or advanced cyclist 5stars for product and the price won't be beaten
Good basic pedals. Not recommended for beginners who should start with a one sided pedal with easier release like the Click'R series from Shimano.
I have recently purchased a new Boardman Road bike using the Cycle2work scheme and the standard pedals come with toe clips. As someone who is rediscovering the cycling scene removal and relocating into toe clips was sometimes a little precarious especially at busy road junctions. I decided to try using cleats and the Shimano M520 SPD pedals were best for this bike. The first couple to locations into the pedals using cleats was a little fiddly but now it is far easier, quicker and safer all round. The adjustability makes removal easy as you can set the strength independently.
Great value for money, rugged and robust. Buy them for road or mtb. Great
Nice and light clips in very efficiently and stable
For the price they can't be beaten. Great value; great product. Very pleased
The double sided pedals make it much easier to clip in compared to my previous single sided touring pedals, with these I don't have to think about clipping in and no looking down to see what position the pedal is in. I got these at a brilliant price and it worked out only slightly more than buying a new set of SPD cleats. I am very, very pleased with this purchase.
double sided spds - easy to use and great value - have on 4 differnt bikes from road to mountain to hybrid
These are a great value set of pedals, not the lightest, but well ahead of must others for the price. This is my first foray into spd's having been a long term user(decade or so! ) of look cleats and pedals. I got these for my cyclo cross bike, in the sale for less than £15, and at that price they are a steal! Easy to set up, they clear of mud much better than the look . They are double sided, making it much easier to get any kind of start, really important for offroad! but it's not as easy to locate the actual 'click in' point since it's smaller and tucked away in the shoe.
I've had these on my commuter bike for 3 years, and they have been excellent. Being double sided it is a breeze to clip in, and the cleats last for ages.
They perform exactly as expected. Not top of the line but on my Airnimal Joey Explore they are perfect for commuting around London. Much better than nasty folding pedals but don't have to be "high end" in view of what I am using them for.
As a newbie to the MTB scene I bought these because of their great value and 1st place in What MB magazine pedals section for months. I ride regularly and have not experienced any wear or stiffness. I cannot compare to any other pedals having only used these but I would thoroughly recommend them to all.
These pedals were on my work bike for about 8 months. By the 8th month, I had over-tightened the tension screw. This was after 2 sets of replacement cleats. These pedals work well, but I think they wear too fast. The initial satisfying sound of clipping in and out slowly diminishes as does their performance. The fact that they are so affordable is a plus, however, I would not recommend them to people who have to clip in and out a lot.
