Switched from SPD to those, and I wish I did it earlier. Read a lot of reviews, and settled to the 105 instead of the Ultegra. Fast to get used to them, light and did improve my endurance (since I have now a better contact area with the bike). Would definitively purchase again!
The pedals do what they are suppose to do. Connect the shoe to the crank. In my hand they feel a little heavy but it's not something you really notice on the bike. They take some time to break in... What I meen is they don't spin very well in the beginning. Most pedals don't. I like the ajustment in tension. They seem to be made to last, something I look for and expect in my bicycle components. There are better pedals out there and you get what you pay for. I'm happy with my purchase!
I had swapped my old Looks for the Shimano R550 and was happy with them on my regular road trainer and wanted to fit another pair on my other bike. I bought the 105's on special as I could not find any R550's. Having got them l and must say they feel much like the R550 you would not notice any smoother rotation from the 105. 105's are a tad lighter. They do look good and easy to clip in and out of just like the R550. I cant justify more spendy pedals these are and look great.
Upgraded from basic 540 pedals and these are a nice upgrade. Low profile, light weight for the price and satisfying "snap" holds you rock solid in place. Like the rest of the 105 Groupset it has a nice blend of price/weight/function that wont let you down.
Pedals are nice. Got what I expected. Wasn't at all satisfied with the amount of time it took to get to me. There are other companies in the UK that would of done a better job delivering a product in less time to the US.
I have the 6800 Ultegra pedal on the other bike and it's an excellent and firm pedal. I decided to buy the 5800 pedal which is a little heavier than 6800. The built and quality of this pedal is almost identical with 6800 pedal and personally I felt there isn't any differences between both except the weight. It's value for money and I got it at a very GOOD price inclusive FREE int'l shipping and no other UK competitors can match this price. Buy with confidence.
Good deal and well made, suoer nice pedals. The only downside is I've waited too long for the shipment.
Very fast and very cheap. very excellent. I will use this next.
Bought those pedals to replace my Shimano SDP M540. It was the fist time that I use the road bike pedal. I was really please with the Shimano 105 PD-5800 Pedals-Carbon. Light weight and very smooth.
