Best inner tube around

5

51 grams for long valve, lovely ride, similar to latex in many ways. very forgiving.

Less prone to punctures than many thicker inners as the thin rubber deforms over stuff easier instead of puncturing, but yes you do need to be careful when mounting. They remind me of the old Air-B latex tubes from the 90's (just not pink)

Use these for everyday commutes, training and racing on the cervelo (Conti GP4000s and Grand prix)and run them on my FS MTB (Panaracer cinders). In 3 years the only puncture I've had is when the rim tape failed on the MTB and the tube blew into the spike hole. (mind you I had put road tyres on it and pumped to 90 psi so wasnt suprised) Thats me doomed having said that

Another advantage is they are so small rolled up so you can carry 2 in the place of a single normal tube. Plus of course you loose nearly 100g over most other so called lightweight tubes in the most vital important place possible

For Duzza, pinch flats are caused by you not putting enought air in the tyre, they are not a function of the inner tube

Race tube.

I'd only use these again if I was racing on clinchers. I find that they puncher more easily and you have to be extra careful when you install them. That being said the performance is excellent and they actually feel more comfortable than heavier weight tubes.

Nice light tube

5

I have been using one of these tubes now for several months. I use a floor pump rather than hand pump so I have had no indication of trouble with the valve mounting in the tube being fragile. I have had the tube in and out of three tyres now and I have not damaged the valve mounting and the rubber is easy to work with in the tyres (Continental GP4000S). Although the rubber is thin, it is not "paper thin" and is certainly not as thin as the tubes in the old singles we used to ride (pink latex) 25 years ago.

The weight claim is exact (I measured 52 g on pretty good scales) and the comparison with the Race Light of 100g makes it a much better tube from the point of view of rotational mass and inertia.

Any time they would be on special, I would buy some again, and I think that if the chap above got three years out of his tubes, yes, he has done well.

George.

Light but Fragile

3

I bought a batch approx. 3 years ago and all went bust within the same time after 3 years. The Butyl rubber gets old/ brittle and is prone to break/ leak where the valve stem attaches. I don't think the tube punctures any easier than others since this is more tire dependent. Only 3 stars for high price and the self disintegration after 3 years, Latex might leak but stays supple longer for the same price. One might argue if you can ride a tube for 3 years / 9000 miles it has done the job.

Top tube!

Expensive, yes, but worth it! I use these both for training and racing and they are top notch, maintenance free tubes. Load with care and they will last brilliantly. Paired with Supersonic Tyres, they are a hard to beat combination

Great tubes

5

These are great tubes and I have used them for years now. I use them with GP 4000S and have had only a couple of punctures in the last few years (touch wood). They also hold their pressure well, unlike latex tubes of similar weight. The only problem I have with these tubes is if I try to pump them up using the Lezyne Floor pump. Because this pump has a screw on valve adaptor, when you unscrew the adaptor after pumping up the tyres, it unscrews the whole inner valve with it and lets all the air out. I just use my Pedros's pump to pump these up.

Only use these for racing

4

These are very thin tubes and are relatively expensive I only use them for racing because I got to many punctures training

lightweight tube

Very lightweight tube but extremely fragile and rather expensive, have only had them fitted for a couple of weeks and have had a pinch flat, never had one before using standard tubes. Not sure they are worth the hassle but will persevere with them for now.

A good tube for the Supersonic tyre

4

The Supersonic tube is the perfect mate for the Supersonic tyre. The rubber is paper thin, so you wouldn't want to use these tubes for everyday riding. Just pumping them up risks ripping the valve stem off (I haven't done it, but they are extremely thin so it has to be relatively easy).
