buck for bang value

Bought this unit 2 weeks ago when it was on sale I tried a couple options before hoping to save some money: -using my cycling computer with cadence and transfering my data by hand but it was time consuming -Using my cellphone, a speed/cadence piece and a couple apps but it was sometime draining my battery fast! But for the incredible price of this item, the adaptability, the fact that you can choose only the info you want on the display, the cardio data, the lightness, and so on This is the greatest bang-for-buck i found so far! Of course there is better and more recent options, but for the Joe-average cyclist who just want to improve his performance and keep a trace of his training THIS is the best option. And, again, PBK delivers it with the best price ;-)

If you want a workout partner, a GPS, and a lot of fun injected into your cycling - buy this! ProBikeKit had the best price for this, and delivery was on time, and well packaged. I was most interested in the Edge 500 for turbo trainer workouts - which it does perfectly. I can turn the GPS off, and use Garmin Training Center App on my desktop computer to program workouts that really do motivate you on the turbo. It is just an awesome piece of kit for the price! Garmin Connect is fun too. I've uploaded all my sessions and can compare them side by side; marking personal bests and basically monitoring all the data produced by my workouts. I can see my fitness seriously improving with this little device, and I know the GPS is gonna be handy for route planning. At this price it's a "no-brainer"!

GARMIN EDGE 500 GPS

Love it. The instructions that were provided were intuitive and the cycle computer was easy to install. It is lighter than I thought considering its size and all of the functions it has. A bit pricy but I remain happy with my purchase.

easy to set up, although the instructions were lacking. YouTube has better instructions. Works as designed.

Great "simple" GPS computer. Has enough data collection to be interesting, and too many features as to overwhelm. Course direction is a bit basic, but otherwise works great. My "complete kit" did not include the cadence magnet however.

Well lets face it if your into road riding (can speak for mtb but sure it's the same) you cannot of failed to hear about garmin. I have used an app on my phone successfully 99% of the time but liked the idea of all the data and information I could then get about my riding/training. First impression - super fast delivery and great service for probikekit. The garmin looked great and was impressively light. Setting up however was a lot less straight forward than I had thought. I also found the linking computer programmes not easy to use and failed to upload after a few attempts. On the bike. This is where it happens. I found there were too many screens for me. It didn't give me the information I wanted on one screen and I didn't like the idea of scrolling through screens to get data whilst on the bike. In summary I got back home and am used to getting the data straight away from my phone. With the garmin I then had to load up my p.c to get the info about the ride. I recognise I am likely to be in the vast minority about garmin but for me personally? It wasn't for me. Do I really need to spend that amount on something I get from a free app. Also and I think more importantly is I asked myself the question "WHY DO I RIDE?" who and what am I doing it for?
