Great value GPS

5

I've had the Garmin Edge 200 for 18-months now, and I'm very impressed. Yes, it's obviously not the most advanced GPS, but for the money it's perfect. The stand-out is the ability to generate "bread crumb" routes planned using Garmin Connect, or better still, ridewithgps. I now confidently go on roads and routes I've never been down and don't get lost! There doesn't seem to be a minor or rural road I've not been down in the Worcestershire/Gloucestershire/Warwickshire area. It's particularly useful to use the streetmap function in the ridewithgps website to check out the road quality. Overall, great little GPS, excellent battery, can take in all weathers (and I've been out in v. bad conditions) and very simple to use. I was planning to use for a short while then upgrade, but I've no real need to do this with the Garmin Edge 200.

Garmin Edge200 just simply works

5

Upgrading from an older Cateye wired computer and found this Garmin Edge200 with the basic functionality. Picks up GPS signal quickly and rarely drops it. Battery life seems solid (10+ hours). Mounts are simple to use with a quarter turn and rock-solid. Garmin connect software is addictive - tracking and logging every commute and training ride is as simple as connecting with USB cable to your PC. NB you cannot use this Edge200 model for Strava - need the more expensive Edge 500 or 800. My advice would be to just get a Garmin and start riding with it. You'll be glad you did and amazed at how the addition of some simple data analytics improves your riding experience.

Very Good!

5

used this unit almost 10 times now since i got it 2 weeks ago. SPOT ON! this thing is amazing, aside from cyclometer which is dead on accurate, i put it side by side with my wired sigma bc1009 and its almost identical! GPS using road is awesome! i haventused it on the trail since its still winter in this side of the planet and i cant ride on the mountains. I mainly ride trails but since i dnt have a choice, road where i trained for now. For the price i paid, its a steal. Garmin connect is a walk in the park to use, i can hook up my strava and map my ride easily. BUY NOW!!!!!

Garmin Edge 200

Does the job with minimum fuss and set up. If you want all singing and dancing you'll have to pay more. If you want basic info about your ride this is the simplest and easiest to use. Links up to a computer enabling visualisation on a map, with details about pace, max speed and other features that might interest you, or might not, eg course planning, but it's not a satnav. Comes with two mounts so can be interchanged between bikes with a simple twist on and off. Wish I'd bought this before I spent on other cycle computers, and not having cadence is no great miss. Haven't tested it in tunnels.... Not that I'd go through tunnels unless I really had to .....

Garmin Edge 200

Best purchase i've ever made, cant recommend it enough. Using this with Strava has helped keep me so much more motivated this year. Whilst previously I stuck to the same old routes, now I can plan my rides, load them on to the Garmin and go out exploring without the fear of getting lost. I've just done a 500 mile tour around Wales and didnt get lost once. GPS is really basic (just a single black line on plain background) and you will have to plot your route before going out. If you are looking for something similair to a car Sat Nav, you will need to get a more expensive model. Only other negatives are that there is no clock and you cant see your speed whilst on the map.

Simplicity at its best

I love edge 200, its a very simple product to use. It provides every data a recreational or a commuter cyclist needs and even more than that. You can always use the Garmin connect which comes with it to satisfy the sportsman inside you.
