Compact, light, attractive and reliable, with all the basic features. What's not to like? It’s sleek, tiny and well formed, making it a more attractive computer model than many, and one which will appeal to those looking for a unit to coordinate with their bike.
Lightweight, sleek and small, however speed indication is still big enough to read easily. It is extremely easy to set up with decent battery life. When changing the battery, data such as odometer total, if noted can be re-inputted onto the computer which is great.
I have these computers on two of my bikes, one black and one yellow, which match my bikes great. I also believe they they also do a 'king of the mountains' version and I think a green one as well.
All in all I would recommend this computer is you require a simple reliable, lightweight computer.
This is a wonderful small, simple bike computer. I used this for >1 year and was very happy with it, until I realized that I would like to analyse my rides on my computer with GPS / elevation / etc. Otherwise, this is a great simple computer for calculating speed, distance, average, etc.
The Cateye strada wireless gives most riders everything they'll need, with the exception of gps and cadence, which you'll pay much more for. There are no wires to mess with and installation is a breeze.
A simple to use (one touch system), simple to install (on stem, which gives a cleaner look and leaves the handlebar free). Battery lasts quite long. Small and light, yet numbers are big and very visible. Also the option to have cadence with the "double" model.
I bought this to replace my Louis Garneau wired computer.
Installation was easy but setting up it up was tricky as there are only 2 buttons to play with..
My old LG (wired) computer reads the speed even at 2-3km/hr,, while this computer only start to read at 4km/hr.. I moved the magnets toward the rim and away from rim.. still the same results. I guess that the disadvantage of the wireless computer...
A simple computer with nothing to fiddle with. This was my first computer and I still love it. Simple, easy-to-use, this computer is for anybody and it looks great with no wires and the sleek interface.
I have been using one of these ever since I got my first nice carbon road bike. This has been very reliable and considering I've ridden in the rain plenty, including a couple of torrential downpours, it still works like the day I bought it.
The simple push button on the top to scroll between data fields like speed, distance, time, duration, and averages couldn't be any easier to use. There are no buttons on the side to be fumbling around with. I got the black one but I've seen them in white too so you can match your bike. The nicest thing about this setup is that all the data is captured wirelessly so there are no cords to run, just a small magnet attached to your wheel, a sensor attached to your fork, and a very easy to use mechanism to fit around your bar or stem (whichever you decided to attach it too).
I have been very happy with this Cateye and I recommend anyone looking for a simple computer to give this a shot.
Perfect if you want something simple and reliable
Simple one-button interface, nothing to fiddle with when you're riding maximum effort. While the sensor has to be pretty close (around 12mm) to the magnet to get a signal, I've never had any problems. It has all of the features that most riders will need. The FlexTight mounting bracket is innovative, allowing mounting to either stem or handlebars. If you're a weight weenie, this is a very light setup, everything together around 45g. For those that don't require power meter or GPS functions, this is probably the best computer that can be had.
