Tiagra Cassette

Might not be as durable as the 105/Ultegra, but for about half the price, this works every bit as well as the more expensive option.

Can't beat this cassette for the price

5

For the price you just can't beat this cassette. I wanted to try a different gear range than what I had, but wasn't sure I'd like it, so I bought this economical cassette figuring I had nothing to loose. It's not as well finished as an Ultegra, and it's heavier due to lack of aluminum spider, but it works just fine and I don't notice any difference while riding.

Just what you would expect.

5

Just what you would expect. It's the lower range of shimano and with that in mind it's excellent. They last well, and last very well if you look after the chain, cleaning and oiling regularly.

Great for the money

4

My Giant Composite 3 came with this cassette. I ordered another for a new wheelset. This cassette is great on the hills here in CT. My stock cassette isn't worn out after 2000 miles and is still silent and shifts great so I have every reason to think the new one will last a long time on the new wheels. For the money these are a great deal, maybe not the lightest but the plates aren't solid and I couldn't feel the weight difference between this Tiagra cassette and a 2014 Ultegra cassette (but I'm not a weight weenie by any stretch of the imagination). This compared to my old 80s era 7 speed is night and day, especially on the hills.

Works great

5

My original Tiagra cassette was starting to skip under load (sprinting, climbing) in a couple gears. Time for a change. Shifts flawlessly now. Doesn't last quite as long as the 105 cassette, but I really like having that 30 tooth low gear, especially commuting with paniers. There is 200+m of climbing in the last 4km of my daily commute, starting with a 1km, 10% grade.

cost effective 10s cassette

5

Replaced a worn 105 cassette with this in an 11-25t. Other than the slight weight penalty the shifts are just as good as the 105. As a bonus there is no 1mm spacer needed and no plastic spacers to deal with when changing the cassette. I've got about 200 miles on it so far and the chrome still shines.

Brilliant value item

5

I bought this item (Tiagra 10 speed 12 to 28 tooth cassette) as a replacement for my worn 12 to 25T 105 original cassette. I wanted a lower gear and was debating whether to go 28 or 30 (with a short cage Ultegra mech. I have read that even though 28T is max for this mech you can get away with a 30T). Out of curiosity I weighed both the new item and the old. Only 50g difference which I was surprised by. I thought there might have been this much difference in these models for the same gear spread. (I got something like 250g for the 105 and 300g for the Tiagra). On this cassette there are far more sprockets mounted on the carrier and only three loose cogs. The 105 only had 3 fixed and 7 loose. Not that it seems to make any difference that I can feel. One benefit of the Tiagra is that it doesn't require the spacer behind the cassette which the 105 unit did (and which is easy to forget to re-install if you are careless, ahem). I can honestly say I can feel no difference at this stage. Fits well and runs with no problems. For the price and weight difference I honestly cannot see any reason why a leisure rider like me would need to spend more on a cassette. Highly recommended and I will be buying this item the next time I need a new cassette.

Great value and quality shifting

Perfect for the winter bike. Really good value and shifts perfectly with a kmc x10 chain. Don't ask for anything more.

Excellent service

5

I purchased Shimano Tiagra 4600 10sp Cassette. When it arrived I discovered that 1 of the gears was missing. My initial thought was - here we go, I'll be trying to get this corrected with no joy. To my surprise - getting the gear sent out was not an issue. As a matter of fact they sent out a complete new cassette. No questions, no begging by me - just complete brilliant customer service. I recommend Probikekit.com.au to all my friends. Brad

Great cassette for good Pruce

Really good product, delivery was quick too. I buy chains and cassettes simultaneously for different configurations and Tiagra although heavier cassette/ chain is smooth and durable. Great for training and racing in my opinion.
