I purchased this cassette reasonable price, and the quality of durace already known as perfect I use this cassette with compact crankset. It is perfect setting for all round style.

12/28 DURA ACE CASSETTE

Top cassette, gives me that extra gear where i need it.The 12 tooth is fine and coupled to 52/36 on the front is quick enough for me.

good

Holding a heart too fast delivery also good. Then you should buy more in.

Solid & well made

Great price here on PBK. The 11-28 ratio works perfectly for the up & down terrain around my area. I manage around 10,000 miles on one of these, primarily in dry conditions and always a good chain. The titanium cogs naturally show the most wear, but are very forgiving in that a significant grinding down will not affect drivetrain performance. At my replacement interval it allows me to still sell on the secondary market for a decent sum. My deduction of a star in my rating results from the tendency for these cassettes to creak. I determined the cause from chafing between the carbon carriers. Laying down a strip of teflon tape on these carriers rectified the problem. Using grease, instead, only temporarily eliminated the noise.

Dura ace 9000 cassette 11-28

What else can I say. Typical shimano quality. Get this cassette if you plan on doing hills. Comes in retail packaging. That means it has a box and not just a plastic shrink wrap.

useless

This former cassette (since Shimano is changing its cassette with the july 2016 announced groupset) was the most useless and dangerous piece of equipment ever coming out of Shimano. the carbon core (17-19 or 18-19) resonated and flexed under load. Besides the creaking, the cogs leaned under load. Since the 11 speed chain was too wide (over 5.6mm) it touched by default the adjacent cogs- which Shimano admitted in announcements as self wearing grinding. The net effect was a chain too large, a cassette leaning it and dropping it under load. Carbon core also breaks under load- or just fails and fatigues, and serious riders would know that. 39-17 36-18 36-19 and even 52/53-17 (27-35 kmh /hr) is where this cassette fails. Ride at 90RPM 39-17 the effect is less visible. The core will also break under load- version depending, as Shimano doubled the carbon retaining pins), months versus weeks. Most times it will under-perform and just creak, drop the chain and scaring the rider. Internet searches will reveal these 9000 cassette issues.. Solution: Campy cassette or, if Shimano/SRAM, SRAM cassette (any)- esp hyper glide, with the narrower, and better built Campy and Shimano chains. So bank on 300$ to solve the problem, but it is solved. July 2016 9100 DA, major changes in cassette. Will see if they retained the same approach for the new cassette.

Dangerous

Since the creation and release of the 9000 / carbon core series, the DA and Ultegra with carbon core have the following problems: - Carbon core flexes and breaks - google for pics - Disks on the carbon core bend sideways under torsion - Chain is too wide at 5.8 mm and touches adjacent cogs, esp in the 17-19t zone One gets creaking, dings, chain shifts and snaps, and, in various cases, cassette carbon core cracks around the pins. Shimano admitted to the chain issue (google its communique) and alleged that with wear chain will make room for itself. However the rider will be hurt long before that happened. Shimano also admitted to the carbon crack by doubling the retaining pins- takes twice as long to crack, so months instead of weeks. the optional solutions are Campy chain with Shimano- does not change the disks flexing under load. Finally, last solution was SRAM 1190 with Campy or Red 22 chain, and problem gone. Worse design ever imaginable. 3 years now and Shimano's solution is to push 105 cassettes, as no serious rider rides a DA or Ultegra.

Best cassette for the best price

Dura Ace products are the best and this cassette is no exception. The price offered was the best for the money.

Shimano cassettes

I haven't actually installed it yet, as I need to check first whether my existing Dura-Ace 11-25 will fit onto 10-speed Shimano RS80 wheels for general riding here in England. This 11-25 combination never misses a beat, is smooth and quiet and adds that little bit more lightness, which is always welcome. I expect the 11-28 combination to be just as good but a little more versatile for the high climbs. If I can't put the 11-25 on my RS80s, I'll leave it on my RS81s and keep the 11-28 cassette for my annual jaunt into Switzerland and northern Italy. I used an Ultegra 11-28 cassette this year and it served me perfectly well, again never missing a beat in the above areas' mountains but the extra smoothness, slick changes and extra lightness will all help at my age, smile. I might add that the combination with KMC chains (I love them, as they're so smooth and dependable) is excellent. As always, ProBikeKit shipped the 11-28 immediately and I received it, in fact, on the day after ordering....couldn't be better, thank you.

Perfect

Good selection of products. I have purchased quite a few items from them and they ship fast and the delivery time is reasonable. Their Shimano prices are excellent and I will continue doing business with them.
