A friend for life. If speed, comfort, distance, adaptability and durability top your list, then this is the frameset for you.

This totally new frame uses the proven geometry of the Granfondo Sc and Kinesis' own Custom Drawn Ti3AL/2.5V tubeset. The outcome is a superbly finished, smooth riding frameset, designed to go the distance and last for years.

Key Features:

  • The GF_Ti is manufactured by the builders of some of the world's best Ti frames, using top quality, cold worked and stress relieved, double-butted tubing.
  • Clearance for up to a 25c tyre when using full size 'guards, up to a 28c without.
  • Geometry is set for standard reach [39-49mm] calipers, this gives far more choice of high end componentry.
  • Tough 7mm dropouts are double-eyeletted to easily accomodate rack and mudguard stays and our own brake bridge gives maximum tyre clearance.
  • Down tube is Bi-ovalised where it meets the BB and Headtube, Top tube is vertically ovalised at Headtube.
  • Headtube is integrated. The larger diameter thin-walled tube gives more weld area and works perfectly with the excellent DC21 fork.
  • Seat stays are curved with a 2m radius, providing silky smooth comfort over long distances. Chain stays are deep section and set wide at the BB for stability.
  • All eyelets are welded, not riveted, so they will never come loose.
  • There is a 'chain keeper' on the RHS seat stay to neatly hold the chain when the wheel is out.
  • Hand brushed finish with heat cured decals.
  • Frame Material: An aerospace grade alloy, 94% titanium, 3% aluminum and 2.5% vanadium.
  • The 54cm frame weighs 1480g (Manufacturer claimed).
  • Seat Post Size: 31.6mm.
  • Front Derailleur Type: 34.9mm Clamp-on.
  • Headset Type: Integrated 11/8", 36º/45º for a 45mm OD head tube.

Nice frame for strong man

I bought the Kinesis Racelight Granfondo Ti Frameset to replace my carbon frame for mainly riding up and down road. Size 54 suits my height at 1.8m with approx. 85kg of my body. Comparing with my previous carbon frame, it benefits the heavy rider with great power during ride especially riding up to the road. This frame could make almost 100% of output power since it's hard enough without any absorption. I'm now feeling the road is shorter than before while riding up. It's too good for me and the outlook is also excellent.

Perfect for building up a winter training bike.

Bought this frame in the early fall and built it up as a winter training bike. I wanted a smooth riding machine for long miles, one made to fit proper fenders for the winter rains. It has exceeded my expectations. Very well built and the smoothest riding frame I’ve ever experienced. Titanium is known to soak up road vibration and the frame design adds to the comfort. This is due to the longer chain stays and the curved seat stays which allow for more give. It is smooth even though paired with unforgiving Ksyrium SSC-SL wheels and bomb-proof tires lacking any suppleness. The front end and the bottom bracket are solid and it is very stable on descents. Compared to my race machines it is heavier and does not have the snap and agility of a true racing frame. But, as the name implies, it is built to be comfortable for long, non-competitive events. The addition of eyelets by the drop-outs and the added clearance by the brake bridges allow for full fenders that are held solidly. A relief after years of noise and vibration that came with flimsy fenders squeezed onto race frames. I ordered the size 60 and, with the fenders, there is minor toe overlap. I quickly adapted to this and am not even aware of it when out riding. Good price for a quality frame, perfect for a winter training bike and, given the frame material, it should last a lifetime.

Brilliant frame and superbike spec; handling could be more direct

The GF has a custom drawn double-butted tubeset, built up with a bi-ovalised down tube and a machined bottom bracket. Combined with the deep, flattened chainstays this creates a very stable underpinning to the frame, which translates into a bike that transfers power without any undue flex or drama.

The geometry is based on the standard scandium framed GF, with a longer wheelbase and a little more height in the head tube. This gives a slightly more upright riding position, more relaxed steering and stability through corners. The frame finish oozes quality and attention to detail.

From the engraved Kinesis head badge to the bullet-finished stays, the GF Ti looks expensive. All the bolt bosses are welded as opposed to riveted, which means they’ll never work loose, a small but important touch. The frame allows for fitting of up to 25mm tyres or, as specced here, 23s and a set of full mudguards.

Up front the head tube is machined to take an internal headset, making it bang up to date despite the use of a more traditional frame material. One more neat traditional touch is a chain-keeping pin welded onto the seatstay. It’s one of those little details you never knew you’d miss until you have it.

The ride of the GF is helped massively by the sheer quality of the build, with impeccable shifting from Campagnolo’s Chorus 11 and a Reynolds wheelset, which is both super-light (1,351g) and stiff. It makes for a bike that climbs effortlessly and the zing of the titanium frame makes it butter smooth over the worst surfaces.

The relaxed handling is perfect for a bike of this type. We only found it wanting on fast descents with challenging corners. Here the supple nature of the frame led to an occasional need for correction mid corner as the front end had some tendency to understeer, but for a bike designed to go big distances whatever the weather we’d definitely recommend the GF Ti.
