The lithium-ion battery is now available in two versions, this version being mounted inside your frame. It can be charged without removing it from your frame, and weighs less than half as much as the external battery.

Hide it good
Shimano alway think through their products very well. This is no exception. The item works perfectly. My only thought was the could also package an etube cable with the battery as you will need a 750mm cable on average to connect it to the internal block with enough room to remove / insert seat post. BTW don't forget to check upgrade to firmware for the item when installing.
Skinny as
I'm using this battery to build a Felt AR1 frame up. I'm very pleased to say it fits down the seat tube cavity so it will be nicely hidden and safe from harms way. Way nicer than the old batter with Ext mounting.
