Tour Down Under 2016

Barely a month into 2016 and we are already getting excited for the first race of the year! Preparation is key for riders as they begin to think about embarking on the Tour Down Under in Adelaide – but we must be well-prepared too! If you are a little behind, fear not as here at PBK there’s a healthy range of offers specific to the Tour, featuring Santini kit, stage jerseys and some exclusives.

Having been first held in 1999, the The Tour Down Under joined the UCI World Tour Event in 2008 as the first road cycling race to be held outside of Europe – cycling’s traditional location.

Between the 16th and the 24th January, 20 teams from across the world will battle it out over 6 stages cycling across Adelaide with a number of jerseys awarded after each stage as well as to the overall winner.

Not only will there be nine days of world-class cycling at the southern Hemisphere’s biggest cycling race, but the event will also be graced with gala dinners, street parties and entertainment.   – a jam-packed and buzzing atmosphere for everyone involved!

Let’s not forget the Women’s Tour Down Under, from the 16th – 19th January which is now a UCI 2.2 class event as well as part of Cycling Australia’s Subaru National Road Series (NRS) – an exciting addition to world cycling!

1) ‘Adelaide’ short sleeve 2016 jersey  – a yellow cycling jersey as a celebration of the beating heart of Australian road racing and hosting city of the Tour Down Under.

2) Second, we have the ‘Corkscrew Road’ short sleeve 2016 jersey which pays homage to the notorious Adelaide 10 km climb that forms one of the most exciting parts of the Tour for spectators.

3) The ‘Old Willunga Hill’ short sleeve 2016 jersey pays homage to the summit finish of the race’s penultimate stage with a green printed design referencing the giant crown painted on the road surface.

We also have a range of cycling clothing available for the kids! Treat the young ones to the Santini Lotto 2015 Leaders Kids’ Short Sleeve Jersey, a lightweight and breathable jersey made to look just the like the adult’s one.

I'm a runner at heart but since shin splints became a big part of my life, I turned to cycling as a form of cross training. I love riding track and am a regular on the Manchester velodrome; on the road I ride a Trek Lexa and I call it Toby.
